The Department of Defence is a cabinet level department within the Imperial State of Econia responsible for the defence of the nation and its interests as well as togheter with the Sovereign commanding the nations armed forces through the Defence Council. It is lead by the Minister of Defence who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of said Council and is considered the fourth highest ranking department after the ceremonial Department of State and the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Justice. Since 8 November 2023 it is lead by Prince William, who is also Prince of the Principality of Lindborgen, one of the nations provinces.

Duties
Minister of Defence
The Department of Defence is headed by the Minister of Defence. They are appointed by the Imperial Sovereign on the People´s Ministers advice and serve at His Imperial Majesty´s pleasure. As Head of the Department of Defence the Government make all decisions regarding the Armed Forces through them.
The Minister of Defence is the only minister required to have done any kind of military service. This to ensure that they have first hand experience with the Armed Forces.
