Delszaft Cyrillic (кирилий абедедже or делшафтий кирилий абедедже, pronounced [kɪˈrɪlɪj abɛˈdɛɖʐɛ], [ˈdɛlʂaftɪj kɪˈrɪlɪj abɛˈdɛɖʐɛ]) is a form of the Cyrillic script used for writing Delszaft. It is mainly used in Thulian government signs and on other special occasions. The Delszaft Latin is used in favor of the Delszaft Cyrillic, due to it being hard to access on non-Cyrillic keyboards.

History

The alphabet was mainly created for aesthetic purposes and to give some variation from the already existing Delszaft Latin alphabet.

Alphabet

It contains 24 letters; 18 consonants, 5 vowels and 1 semivowel:

Uppercase А Б В Г Ґ Д Дж (ДЖ) Е И Ј К Л Љ М Н О П Р С Т У Ф Х Ш
Lowercase а б в г ґ д дж е и ј к л љ м н о п р с т у ф х ш
Name а бе ве га ґе де дже е и ји ка ел ељ ем ен о пе ер ес те у еф хе еш

Ј and Й

Up until 17 December 2023, ⟨ј⟩ and ⟨й⟩ were used interchangeably in the Delszaft Cyrillic. The difference between them being that ⟨ј⟩ only appeared in the start and middle of a word but never at the end:

checkY ј-
checkY -ј-
☒N

The ⟨й⟩ then appearing only in the end of a word, but never in an initial position:

☒N й-
checkY

After 17 December, only the ⟨ј⟩ is used.
