Known as the emperor's grandfather, he was not a member of the Imperial family, but was an aristocrat treated as a senior aristocrat. He served as the first Minister of Finance for the Kingdom of Cardonia and held the peerage of Count Montmoracy as a Caledonian aristocrat. He supported the territorial claims of King Carl I, the founder of the kingdom, and participated in the declaration. After resigning as finance minister, he retired without any involvement under Alexander II's rule. After Karl I returned to his homeland, he remained as a mere member of the aristocracy because the House of Lords was abolished. After the abdication of King Carl I, he seceded from the Kingdom of Cardonia and was appointed prince of the Duchy of Mustavia, a member of the Rosemia Empire. She began to rule with Countess Duracy, but was deposed by the emperor and now serves as chairman of the Imperial Privy Council and head of the Montmoracy family.
