The Co-operative Republic of Kraitia, also known as the Kraitian Republic or Kraitia, is a self-declared sovereign state, regarded as a micronation by the external community. Comprised of territory in the Golden horseshoe of South Ontario and Brooklyn, New York. Kraitia was founded 28 March 2022, by micronationalists Benjamin Pickles and Nicolas Caiazzo.
As a unitary parliamentary republic, Kraitia is led by the Minister of State, also known as the State Minister, who serves as head of state and government. Benjamin Pickles is the incumbent Minister of State. The Parliament, presided over by the Dean, is elected in staggered elections in which one-third of the Parliament's twelve seats are up for election every two months. MPs are elected via party lists, and the leader of the party or coalition with the most seats becomes Minister of State. The government is led by the Government Leader in Parliament, currently Nicolas Caiazzo, with the opposition led by the Opposition Leader. The Minister of state appoints a cabinet of six Ministers. The Judiciary Council serves as the judicial power of Kraitia, appointed by the State Minister and approved by Parliament. Kraitia is constitutionally a Co-operative and socialist state but does not have a major economy.
