His Majesty's Civil Service of Albia, also known as His Majesty's Civil Service or the Civil Service of Albia, is the permanent bureaucracy of crown employees that support the Government of Albia, which is lead by a cabinet of ministers nominated by the Prime Minister of Albia.
Civil servants are employees of the Crown and not of the Parliament of Albia. Some senior civil servants may be called to account to Parliament.
History
The Civil Service is one of the oldest institutions in the Kingdom of Albia. It was founded on 12 June 2022.
Governance
The civil service is overseen by the Prime Minister of Albia and the Chief Executive Officer of the Service. The Chief Executive is responsible for the day-to-day running of the service.
Political Neutrality
The Civil Service is a politically neutral body, with the function of impartially implementing the policy programme of the elected government. All civil servants are barred from political party membership and from standing for election while in the civil service.
All civil servants are also subject to taking oaths of secrecy, barring them from disclosing sensitive government information.
