Armed Forces of Portucale
The Armed Forces of Portucale are the forces responsible for the defence of the Grand Duchy of Portucale. They also promote the nation's wider interests, and want to help provide intermicronational aid.
The Armed Forces consist of the Army; the principal land warfare force, the Air Force; the principal air warfare force, the navy; the principal sea warfare force, the presidential guard; the principal protection force of the Monarch.
The Commander-in-Chief/Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces is the monarch whom members swear allegiance to.

History
Foundation
The Armed Forces were established on the 3rd of December 2021 to ensure the defence of the Portucale Republic. It now serves the Grand Duchy of Portucale.
Recruitment
Recruitment happens directly from the Portucale Population. The minimum age to enlist in any branch of the armed forces is 16. The maximum age for enlistment depends if the applicant is applying for a regular or reserve role. All enlisted personnel commit to a minimum of 3 years of service while officers typically commit to a minimum of 12 years.
To Commission as an Officer citizenship is required, unless it's an Honorary Commission.
To Enlist as a Soldier, Sailor,Airman or Presidential Guard only Permanent Residency is required.
Oath of Allegiance
All members, commissioned or enlisted, must swear an Oath of Allegiance to promise to serve and defend the President and the nation.
The Oath is as follows: I, [full name] do solemnly swear (or affirm) by almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Grace the Grand Duke of Portucale and his heirs and successors and that I will as in duty bound honestly and faithfully defend His Grace and his heirs and successors in person, presidency and dignity against all enemies and will observe and obey all orders of His Grace, his heirs and successors and the Generals and Officers set over me.
Honorary Commissions
The Monarch of Portucale may issue honorary Officers' Commissions to those who have been helpful to the nation or have done something worthy of awarding.
