The Amundsen Empire, more commonly known as Amundsen or just A.E, is a micronation in the United States in the city of New York. The nation was founding on July 24, 2020 and takes up 3.8 km on Coney Island. The nation also has over sea territories in the cook islands with some islands being being bigger then the mainland itself. The empire is planning on being a recreation of the British empire with their many off shore islands but on a micro scale. The reason for the islands in the pacific are for sea claims since sea claims in the state of new york restrict the 200 nautical mile zone. With the three cook islands the nation gained an additional 50,000 km in sea area for their use.
Etymology
The name of the nation originated from the first person to lead an expedition and successfully make it to the south pole, Roald Amundsen. The official holiday for him is celebrated on December 16 as Roald Day. This is not to be confused with Amundsen's Independence Day which is celebrated on July 24.
History
On July 24 the founding of the A.E was instituted and Coney Island succeeded from the rest of Brooklyn. That same day three islands in the cook islands were annexed under the rule of King John who was also made king that day. For a short period of time an island of the coast of Antartica was also ruled by the A.E but that was given back to neutrality as the cook islands became a more better alternative option.
Politics and government
The political standing of the empire involves a democracy with a constitutional monarchy. The house of parliament (hop) is made up of a undecided amount of seats since the nation is currently runned by a single person, the monarch. King John the First is the current reigning monarch of the A.E and follows a line of succession for the passing down of the throne. Currently the monarch has no heir to king/queen of the A.E directly but the next closet heir to him would be his female sibling, this would give the first queen in the A.E's history.
Law and order
The police force comprises of no one as the nation lacks the population. To keep borders secure the flag of the A.E will be installed to every road that crosses the border in Coney Island to the U.S.
Foreign relations
Currently the A.E has no foreign relations but would gladly accept anyone who wanted diplomatic ties
Military
The military is in charge of the protection of the borders and will be stationed at every border crossing. The current divisions of the military are Infantry, Naval and Air. Infantry involves all members of the A.E while Naval mostly protects the Coney island creek. Air force is under construction but would be used for surveillance via drone or set up go pros to monitor daily changes in the nation without the loss of public privacy.

The A.E is comprised of a mostly urban capital, some suburban neighborhoods and remote rural islands in the pacific.
Economy
The main industry of the A.E is tourism at 60% of the income since the cook islands are popular destination sites as well as the coney island boardwalk. Food comes in at 20% of the income and the rest of the income is made thru random exports. The GDP stands around 4,000 meaning the GDP per capita is also 4,000 USD. While the citizenship for the nation stands at one member, coney island is home to 25,000 residents.
Culture and media
The A.E is famous for the Coney Island boardwalk and its beaches. We also have our own theme park with the famous Cyclone and Thunderbolt. In the pacific are some vacation sites for tourists and a native oceanian population.
