All 3 seats in the Senate
The 2018 Elections of the Democratic Republic of Tūrnia are the first elections of the Democratic Republic of Tūrnia. As all seats are vacant, there are 3 seats in the Senate available in addition to the Presidency. The elections will be held on December 10, 2018. Party and candidate registration started informally in September, but official candidate, party, and voter registration started on October 14, 2018.
The voting will occur from 12 AM EST until 11:30 PM EST on December 10, 2018. The votes will be counted and calculated before December 20. The new officials will take office January 1, 2019 to start their 3-year terms. Voters are required to register before they vote, however the registration is open until the polls close. The President is elected by a modified popular vote, while the 3 Senators are elected by single-transferable vote.
Candidates as well as political parties are required to register before December 1. There will be a debate held between the Candidates for Senator and Candidates for President sometime between December 1 and the election, as well as letters sent to all registered voters, informing them of who s running and a statement from each candidate.
