The 1st Chasseurs, officially the 1st Regiment of Chasseurs of the Royal Guard of the Army of the Lands of the Grand Katzen Crown of Vienna and Germany, is the main Infantry Regiment of the Katzen Royal Guard. Its peacetime role is to act as largely ceremonial guards of the Katzen Royal Palace, but it also serves as the best and most experienced regiment of the Army in times of war.
On August 23, the Regiment was ordered to ready for Immediate action by the 25th, when it was to take the offensive. This was the first time that the Regiment was called up for strategic attacking purposes.
On the 25th, it advanced against foreign intruders in the east, who promptly turned and ran without a fight. All lost territory was captured by the Regiment.
Structure
The Regiment is garrisoned in a small section of the Katzen Royal Palace, which serves as its staff headquarters. It has a secondary base to the east at the small Ft. Napoleon. Currently, the Regiment is led by Colonel Charles Schwarzenberg, Marshal-Admiral of Katzburg.
