Ariel (Ariel Clay) is the Prince and current reigning monarch of the Principality of Rothesay. As the Prince of Rothesay, Ariel is a member of the Rothesain Royal Family.

Early life

Ariel was born in New York City and grew up there. His sister, Eleanor, Princess Royal, was born two years after him. While in Paris, at a young age, Ariel learned of the concept of a micronation and became interested, therefore spending the following several years working on a new nation and Constitution.

On December 2, 2020, Ariel founded The Principality of Rothesay, with himself as monarch and Eleanor as the heiress presumptive.

Prince Ariel resides in New York City and in Rothesay.

Reign

On 2 December 2019, HRH Prince Ariel, declared the lands of Rothesay to be an independent sovereign nation, separate from The Untied States and officially proclaimed himself the first monarch and the first Prince of the Principality of Rothesay.
