Crown, Constitution and Royal Prerogatives

Styles and Titles

The King or Queen of Ocrain is addressed as "His or Her Majesty", however they may choose a different style if they should wish. The Monarch is also styled as the titular head of the Privy Council of Ocrain.

Succession and Regency

As the Crown Prince of Ocrain is the Heir Apparent of the Throne so succeed the throne when the monarch abdicates or dies. The Crown Prince also acts as regent when the Monarch is incapacitated or unfit to rule, regency may also be installed temporarily in the monarch's absence.

Passing of Laws

The Monarch, as an absolute monarch, may pass any laws they wish. As a result of their power the monarch isn't required to turn to parliament to vote on laws they wish to pass - though some monarchs may favour this to make the nation more democratic.

Royal Assent

When parliament vote to pass a law, it is required to then go to the monarch for royal assent before it comes into law. When the motion is presented to the monarch they have right to sign it into law or reject it and request it be adjusted or changed.

Monarch as Commander-in-Chief

As the head of state, the monarch sits as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ocrain. As a result the monarch holds executive power over the military, commissions officers and presents honorary commissions.
