The Åland State (Swedish: Ålands stat), is a small political entity that claimes to be a sovereign state, also known as a micronation.[1] The Åland State is located on the Åland in Finland. The Åland State borders Jurassicland in the south and the Marius Empire in the north. The Åland State controlls 0.09 square kilometer of territory and has a population of 18. The Åland States capital and financial centre is Börkö. The Åland State has two official languages Swedish and English. The government is a unitary parliamentary republic. On 11 April 2024, the Åland State-Jurassicland Mutual Defence Agreement would be signed.
The Åland State would be founded after a coup against the French Republic. Himberg would sign the 2024 Åland State Enabling act to officialy found the Åland States government and military. On 30 January 2024, the Constitution is signed. The first laws would be written on the 5 February 2024. The enabling act would be suspended on 14 February 2024. The second draft of the constitution would be signed on 14 February 2024. The first election was going take place on 29 February 2024. French Republic royalists would attmept a coup. On 1 March 2024, a coup would be started by French Republic royalists.[2] The Åland Armed Forces would crush the coup on the 2 March.[3] Himberg would become president on 2 March 2024. On 29 March 2024 Himberg would sign the 2024 Åland State Recognition Act. On 11 April 2024, Wilmer Himberg would become vice president. Operation SOW would take place on 12 April 2024 to gain intelligence on the Empire of Medieval. On 14 April 2024, the Långgrunds Defence Pact including the Åland State would go to war with Medieval. The Långgrunds Defence Pact would capture Medieval. W would start a rebellion and civil war in the Åland State on 14 April 2024.
Etymology
Åland's original name was in the Proto-Norse language *Ahvaland. Proto-Germanic ahwō is related to the Latin word for water, aqua. In Swedish, this first developed into Áland and eventually into Åland, literally 'river land'—even though rivers are not a prominent feature of Åland's geography. The Finnish and Estonian names of the area, Ahvenanmaa and Ahvenamaa ("perch-land", from Finnish ahven, for the type of fish), are seen to preserve another form of the old name.[4]
The Finnish word Ahvenanmaa has several theories in regards to the Åland name, with them varying from it being a Finnish variant of the Swedish Åland, it being the original name that Åland derived from, and it having formed independently. [5]
The official name, Ålands Stat can mean the Ålanders land.
History
On 15 December 2023, the Freedom Brigades and the MADF which would be named the freedom coalition, would coup the imperial government of the French Republic. The freedom coalition would beging the coup in the imperial house. Small clashes would begin between the Imperial police and army against the freedom coalition. In the end the freedom coaliton would take controll and dissolve the French Republic forming the Åland state. Axel Himberg, the former emperor would be the leader of the coup to gain more power.
The MADF on 31 December 2023 would found the Ålandssekretapolisen as the Åland States secret police. On 1 January 2024, Himberg would sign the 2024 Åland State Enabling act to concolidate power and grow the military. The act would also officialy found the government of the Åland State. On 2 January 2024, the Åland State government and military would be officialy founded. Himberg would announce many plans for the military by the summer of 2024. Also on 2 January 2024, Himberg would sign the 2024 Åland State Remilitarization act to grow the Åland Armed Forces and modernize its equipment. On 3 January 2024, the Åland State and the Marius Empire would sign a deal to begin military cooperation outside the Långgrunds Defence Pact. Himberg on 4 Janaury 2024 would sign the 2024 Åland State anti-LGBT act to remove rights from LGBT people and furries. The anti-LGBT act would be suspended on 30 January 2024. The Åland State would expand into some eastern territory from Börkö on 21 January. On 30 January 2024, the constitution is signed. The first laws would be written on the 5 February 2024. On 9 February 2024, ÅASA would be founded. The enabling act would be suspended on 14 February 2024. The second draft of the constitution would be signed on 14 February 2024. On 1 March 2024, a coup would be started by French Republic royalists. The royalists would proclaim the Second French Republic. The Åland Armed Forces would crush the coup on the 2 March. Government and politics
The Åland state is a unitary parliamentary republic ruled by Axel Himberg as president and Wilmer Himberg as vice president. There are 4 different leaders not including the president and vice president, these include the chief of defence, chief of justice, chief of enviornment and the chief of economics. The chief of defence and economics is led by Axel Himberg while there is no leader of the chief of enviornment or chief of justice yet. Himberg has not choosen a vice president yet but will after the first presidential election on 28 February 2024. The Åland state signed its first constitution on 30 Janaury 2024 and the second constitution was signed on 14 February 2024.
Constitution
The Constitution of the Åland State sets the framework of Åland States government. The president can accept trade deals, form alliances, start wars, sign acts and laws and build buildings but almost all can be vetoed by parliament. The president is also the chief of defense.
Parliament
Parliament has two parties, the Åland Party led by Axel Himberg and the Finnish Party led by Wilmer Himberg. There is no speaker of parliament yet as the vice president is the speaker but the presidential election has not happened yet.
Foreign relations
The Åland State only has diplomatic relations with the Marius Empire, the Åland State would take the French Republics spot in the Långgrunds Defence Pact with the Marius Empire. The Åland State has lumber trade deals with the Marius Empire. The Åland State also has relations with Jurassicland. The Åland State also recognizes all United Nations members exept for Israel, South Korea and North Korea. The Åland State also recognised all seperatist nations (just like the Republic of Åxenö) for example South Ossetia and Transnistria. Himberg would also condemn the Augusta Accord and Union Against Micronational War. The Nyeusi Socialist Republic has refused recognition of the the Åland State. After the foundation of the Empire of Medieval, the Åland State would refuse to recognize Medieval.
Municipalities
There are 4 municipalities in the Åland State, Cerkö, Sugg, Suggrund and the Forest area. The forest area is an area with 0 population so all of that territory is unified into the Forest area as more municipalities are not required.
Economy
The Åland States economy is small. The Åland State uses the Euro as its currency. The Åland State has a GDP of €100,060 and inflation of 1.6% in April 2024. A lot of the GDP comes from foreign jobs.
Lots of the economy goes to the military. Himberg had also announced on 31 December that the Åland Armed Forces budget would be expanded from 10% of the GDP to 40% in the summer of 2024 and by the end of 2024 to reach 60% of the GDP.
The country also has a large fishing and lumber indusrty for exporting and internal reasons. Fishing is the largest industry but the lumber industry is also very important to build infastructure like houses. The Åland State has one bank, the Börkö Central Bank. Himberg has also banned tourism to the country.
Military
The leader of the military is Axel Himberg who is the Chief of Defence. The Åland States military is limited in budget and equipment. The military has many weapons including chemical. The Åland Armed Forces has plans to equip the army with several armoured vehicles and tanks by the summer of 2024. Himberg had also announced on 31 December that the Åland Armed Forces budget would be expanded from 10% of the gdp to 40% in the summer of 202 and by the end of 2024 to reach 60% of the gdp. Also the highest award that you can get from the military is the Order of Åland First Class.
Geography
The Åland State is rocky and mossy in the east but in the west there is a large forest. The Åland States highest point is 45m above sea level. The Åland State contolles 0.09 square kilometers of territory. Most of the Åland State is forest, about 60%. The Åland State owns two islands, Notgrund and Suggrund. The island of Suggrund is mostly rocky with some trees on it and at the back of the island is a hotspot for Swans. In the south the border is defined by 30-45m as a 80 degree rocky cliff that heads up from the border.
Biodiversity
The Åland State has mostly birds living there. There are many tipes of insects like Glanville fritillary butterfly. The Åland State also has many Deer. There are not many large animals that live in the Åland State, but there are many insects. There are about 1000 species of Ants for example. There are also some Elk and Swans.
Climate
The Åland State has a humid continental climate (Dfb) that is influenced by its maritime position. During June to August in the Åland State it is very hot and during December to March it is very cold.

Demographics
Population
The Åland State has a population of 18, most people live in Börkö the capital and 6 people live in Sugg. The Åland State is the most populated known micronation on Åland, with the Marius Empire in second place with 3 and Jurassicland with 1. Future expansion of territory could lead to more population.
Language
Most people speak Swedish as their first language and 100% of the population can speak Swedish. For information about the dialect, see Åland Swedish. 100% of the population can also speak English. Not many can speak Finnish and no one speaks it as their first language.
Religion
The majority of the population in Åland (not the Åland State), belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.[7] 100% of the population in the Åland State belongs to the Evangelic Lutheran Church of Finland but almost everyone in the Åland State is aethiest.
Culture
The Åland States culture is a mix of weastern culture and Swedish culture as of its geographical position. For example the Åland State celebrates Christmas and New years but the Åland State is not christian. The Åland State does not have halloween as a official holiday. Fishing is also part of the culture as many people like to go fishing in the Åland State. The national food of the Åland State is the Åland pancake. The national animal is the Elk. The Åland State celebrates Midsummer like how they do in Sweden with a Maypole. The Maypole would break in 2022 and removed in 2023.
Architecture
The architecture in the Åland is influenced by Swedish, German and Russian architecture. Al buildings in the Åland State are made of wood, bricks and concrete. The architecture in Börkö is influenced by the architecture in Mariehamn. The most iconic building in the Åland State is the Giant Yellow House in Börkö which is also the biggest building in the Åland State.
Cuisine
Potato, fish and meat are the most popular foods. Perunamuusi or just mashed potato is also common popular food. Meatballs or Swedish Meatballs are a popular food in the Åland State. Blueberries and lingonberries are some of the cuisine in the Åland State. Salmon is one of the most popular fish in the Åland State which is required to make lox that is also popular. Also Fazer Blue chocolate is a popular food but not cuisine of the Åland State.
Flag
The flag of the Åland State is the original flag of Åland. After the coup that would found the Åland State there where two flags used, the Ålander flag and the MADF flag.
Sport
There is currently not much sport in the Åland State. The national sport is golf. Disc golf is popular. Fishing is also a official sport in the Åland State.
