The Republic of Nineger (sometimes spelt as Ninger) was a state which existed in the Forgotten Realms between 2004 and 2005. Situated to the north-east of the Kingdom of Atlantis, the dominant power in that region, the Ninegeriens appointed the King of Atlantis, Declan I, as their President.
The Ninegeriens, despite proclaiming Declan as their president, were a very rebellious and tumultuous people. When their president suggested their governmental system transition from a republic into a kingdom in 2005, Nineger rebelled against him - instead of crushing the revolt with the military might of the neighbouring Atlantis, Declan I simply abandoned Nineger to let the nation destroy itself. With no leader or structure, Nineger quickly collapsed.
