The Town of Chandler, more commonly known as Chandler, is an Austenasian Town, and an exclave of the U.S. State of Colorado. It was annexed as an Austenasian Town on (date) December of 2022.

It is currently represented in the Austenasian Parliament by Lord Michael Colquhoun. The Town Council is dominated by the ruling LIBCON coalition, which holds a 2/3 majority and can block all opposition legislation.

Etymology

Chandler is named after the street paralleling Chandler at it's furthest point, which itself most likely takes it's name from the middle English word denoting a candle maker. Alternatively, it could be derived from a common surname in medieval England.

History

The Town of Chandler was officially annexed on (date) December of 2022, with Lord Michael Colquhoun being named it's acting Representative. However, a Provisional Government of the Town of Chandler was formed on 8 December of 2022 after the area was declared by it's population to be under Austenaisan Sovereignty, and The Emergency Services Ordinance, Drugs Ordinance, and Limitanei Ordinance were passed by the Provisional Town Council.

Politics and government

The Town of Chandler is governed by the Town Council of Chandler, which oversees the local government of the Town. Contrary to common practice, the Town Council of Chandler frequently enacts Bye-Laws, and meets regularly for local government. All subjects and residents of the Town elect themselves to the Town Council. The libertarian-conservative LIBCON coalition holds a majority of seats and most local offices, while the christian democratic faction wields strong influence over Committees, as the LIBCON coalition is unable to act together on matters of specific policy, instead relying on debate in the Council and opposition to the christian democrats to unify. The Town's Acting Representative, Lord Michael Colquhoun, is a conservative member of the LIBCON coalition.

Law and order

The enforcement of Law is the responsibility of the Police Inspector in the Town of Chandler, and anyone that the Inspector deputizes. Acting Representative Michael Colquhoun currently is the Town Judge of Chandler. No arrests or Trials have taken place in the Town of Chandler.

Chandler experiences large amounts of snowfall and precipitation during winter, and droughts during summer. Chandler's Geography is marked by artificial flora and fauna, as the original geography was nearly extinguished during urbanization.

Economy

No Corporations currently operate within the Territory of the Town of Chandler, although their services are enjoyed within the surrounding United States. Chandler has a lively import/export industry, with merchandise being frequently moved into and out of Chandler.
