The coat of arms of Eintrachtia (Portuguese: Brasão de armas da Eintrachtia) is one of the primary national symbols of Eintrachtia. It is the arms of the state and the government, and the personal arms of the monarch. It displays the shield of the House of Ballister, featuring an emperor penguin holding a sceptre, and topped by the Eintrachtian royal crown. The lesser arms is supported by lions rampant Or.

The first adopted coat of arms of Eintrachtia was designed by King John in 2022 and was adopted on 6 April that year. The former greater arms consisted of the sphere of Concorde, inspired by the armillary sphere from Portuguese heraldry. The current coat of arms was adopted in January 2024, and was also designed by King John.

Design and symbolism

There has been various changes made to the design of the coat of arms throughout Eintrachtian history. The current version, designed by King John as the Grand Master of the College of Arms in January 2024, features a different escutcheon compared to most of the preceding designs. The arms is charged with an emperor penguin holding a golden (Or) sceptre symbolising empowerment (the sceptre) of the Eintrachtian monarchy (the penguin). This is a throwback to the Blue Penguin arms, the original coat of arms used by the State of the Penguins, a predecessor of modern Eintrachtia, from 2017 to 2019.

History

The Penguins Republic had varying designs of coats of arms, as many of those had bad quality or were handdrawn and it wasn't clear which was the official version. The Blue Penguin arms is a recontructed design of what satisfies most of those varying designs. The date of design is unclear as there are no official records of the national symbols of the Penguins State. But it is known that it was designed by King John, as he did with most succeeding coats of arms.

The first known official coat of arms of Eintrachtia was adopted in 2019 by the Eintracian Empire. It was the first arms made by digital methods, being made on MS Paint, it had a low quality compared to modern standards, which are mostly vector graphics. It is the first time the coat of arms of Eintrachtia featured the Ballisterian Cross, as well as the motto of Eintrachtia in Latin, "Deus Benedicat Patriae". Following the Concordian Reform, or the Concorde Revolution, a new coat of arms was adopted in replacement. It was mainly an improved and revised version of the previous one, having similar elements but with some elements like the mural crown and the feathers removed, and the crest, the Prussian Eagle, being replaced with a new eagle. The eagle was a symbol of a republic, denoting the nature of the Eintrachtian monarchy was more or less like a crowned republic.

In 2022, the greater coat of arms was adopted, as well as a new lesser arms, both having royal crowns as crest. The new designs were in use in official capacity along with the preceding eagle version. The version with the eagle was later complately replaced by the new designs as it held republican symbolism. These designs, used until late 2023, was the last version of the coat of arms to ever hold the pattern on the flag of Eintrachtia on its escutcheon.

The current coat of arms in digital format is the first official arms designed in Adobe Illustrator and has SVG file format, allowing clearer representations. It has an updated version of the royal crown and was officially adopted by the Senate on 19 January 2024.
