Spon Awards
Awarded for Excellence in media, music, software and typography
Country Sirocco
First awarded December 2007

A Spon Award is an accolade bestowed by the Siroccan government to recognise excellence in media, software and music. Spon Awards are unique in that they are not restricted to content produced that year - awards have been given for content dating back to the 1950s. While the awards were originally intended solely for music (the song that had been played most that year), they have since expanded to encompass such varied categories as films, video games, typefaces, and software.

Occasional variations on the awards have been made; there were two joint winners for both the game of the year and Spon Award categories in 2015, and in 2019 an additional set of awards were granted to determine each category's overall winner for the entire decade.
