The Sovereign Order of Brotherhood, more commonly known as SOOB, is a micronation in the South Central US...

It is founded not as a RP nor as a secessionist movement but as a semi-autonomous collective akin to a more democratic non-religious Order of Malta in order to better the communities of the world.

Etymology

The name Sovereign Order of Brotherhood was developed to be patterned after the semi independent religious orders of the Middle Ages namely the Knight Hospitaller. The Sovereign Order of Brotherhood can also be called the Sovereign Order of Brothers in less formal occasions or either The Sovereign Order or S.O.O.B for shorthand.

History

No important historical events have occurred outside of the founding. Notably the second constitution was passed in November of 2022.

Politics and Government

Executive Branch

The executive branch is made up of the Chief of State who has total authority over the nation their duty is to run the executive agencies and oversee the Senate. There is an additional Deputy Chief of State who may run the Assembly in the absence of a President and is the principle advisor to the Chief of State on all matters concerning the Citizenry. The Executive Branch is formed by a series of positions running a Department within the Sovereign Order these Directors then form the advisory body to the Chief of State.

The Department of Operations headed by the Director of Operations which oversees the Service Force and the various projects of the nation.

The Department of Public Affairs headed by the Director of Public Affairs which acts similarly to the State Department where they are in charge of communications with Macro and Micronations primarily the local government for permits and the recruitment of new members.

The Department of Finances overseen by the Director of Finances who is in charge of all things money from funding to purchases to payments.

The Department of Safety run by the Director of Safety oversees the S.I.S and the Safety of all Members and Property of the Sovereign Order including compliance with Macronational Regulations.

Legislative Branch

The Legislative Branch is made up of the Assembly which consists of the President of the Assembly charged with overseeing the Assembly and elected every 60 days Assembly Members. Assembly members consist of any Member of the Sovereign Order over the age of 16. Assembly members may be expelled either temporarily or permanently which denies them the ability to vote or speak at assemblies however they may still attend at watch.

Judicial Branch

The Judicial Branch consists of the Paragons which are appointed by the Chief of State and confirmed by the Senate they will hear and rule on various court cases from both criminal and civil courts. Appeals or high-profile cases shall go directly to the Chief of State for rulings.

Law and order

As our nation is small so is our Investigative arm. The Special Investigations Service (S.I.S) conducts Safety evaluations and investigations in line with S.O.O.B policy and orders to ensure compliance with all regulations and safety of all members. The S.I.S is the only body of the Sovereign Order permitted to carry arms while on duty however is restricted from using them except when permitted under micronational self defense laws. Ultimately the S.O.O.B operates in compliance with all Macronational law and as such part of the S.I.S's duties are to determine when the Sovereign Order needs to send information or complaints on to Macronational Public Safety authorities.

Foreign relations

Currently the Sovereign Order does not interact with any Micronations however has cooperation with two volunteer organizations and may extend relations to the local municipal government in the near future.

Service Force

The Service Force is a Paramilitary Style Organization comprising of volunteers either Members or Evaluated Non-Members this organization conducts Community and Civil Service Projects as well as Preparation and Training for Disaster Relief.

Units

The Service Force is assigned tasks in either "Task Force", "Group", or "Section" size units which break down into "Elements" and "Teams" this allows for the maximum amount of flexibility in conducting tasks. All Leadership positions down to the Team Leader are given a high level of independence and responsibility.

Task Force: Any Unit assigned to a task or operation usually at least two "Groups" and a "Headquarters Element" in size. A Task Force is usually led by a temporarily appointed "Task Force Leader" holding the position of "Group leader" either appointed due to special skillset or seniority. The Task Force Headquarters will usually handle Large Scale Planning, Public Interaction, and Cross-Organizational Interaction. It will also coordinate the Logistics of the "Group" size units under it however will largely depend on the individual "Group Headquarters Teams" to deal with the actual Logistical Burden.

Group: The standard deployment of Service Force Members it consists of three "Elements" and a "Headquarters Team". A "Group" is led by a "Group Leader". The "Group" level Headquarters will usually handle all Logistics and Re-Supply during an operation leaving direct operational control to the individual "Element" and "Team" Leaders. In cases where no Task Force is present it will also take on the duties of Public Interaction, Cross-Organization Interaction, and Large Scale Planning.

Element: The breakdown of a "Element" consists of two "Teams" the "Element" is the standard maneuvering and shift unit where the two "Teams" of a "Element" are given a set task or objective with one "Team" working directly towards that goal while the other rests and supports while rotating to limit exhaustion. An Element is led by a "Element Leader". Elements may be independently deployed to Community or Civil Service Projects however will never independently deploy on Disaster Relief Missions.

Team: A "Team" consists of five volunteers and is led by a "Team Leader" a "Team" is the primary operational unit of the Service Force handling most of the hands on work and objectives. Teams may be independently deployed to community service projects however will never independently deploy on Civil Service Projects or Disaster Relief.

Economy

Economy primarily relies on fundraisers and donations to raise money for projects all members of the Government are volunteers and may only be reimbursed for costs incurred.

Culture and media

A national news channel is to be implemented once a Citizenry is gathered.

Membership may only be held by people above the age of 16 who are mentally fit and pass the Citizenry Application Assessment. Membership requests must be made to an authorized official in person.
