Princess Anna of Marienbourg (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 16 August 2003) is a Princess of Marienbourg and member of the House of Bruyn-Carvalho. She is the only daughter of Prince William of Marienbourg and his wife, the Brazilian economist Adriana Ribeiro, and a second cousin of Duke Arthur V. Although the Marienbourgish monarchy is elective, not hereditary, Anna is widely considered to be next in the unofficial line of succession to the throne, after her first cousin Prince Pedro.
Biography
Early life and education
Princess Anna was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, being the only daughter of Prince William of Marienbourg to his wife Adriane Ribeiro, an economist in a private firm. Her father is the son of Princess Nilza of Marienbourg, former Regent of Minen in Ebenthal, sister of Princess Maria, Grand Marchioness of Blauerhimmel, maternal grandmother of Arthur van der Bruyn, King of Ebenthal and Duke of Marienbourg, which makes Anna and Arthur, therefore, second cousins. She was baptized in the Catholic Church with her aunt, Princess Adriana of Marienbourg, and her cousin, Princess Karina, as godparents.
Through her father, Anna is a member of the Carvalho family, an ancient family of Portuguese origin that dates back to the 12th century. However, as Princess of Marienbourg, Anna was incorporated into the so-called House of Bruyn-Carvalho, a cadet branch of the House of Bruyn born through an agreement between her great-uncles Anthony and Edison Carvalho and her cousin Arthur van der Bruyn, by which Arthur, who is a Bruyn, became sovereign of Marienbourg and the Carvalho family, that of his mother, became his heirs.
In 2022, aged 18, inspired by her mother, Anna enrolled in the bachelor's degree in economics at Brazilian Institute of Markets and Capitals.
