The Praesidium Opaty (Präsidium Opati) is an independent Parlamentary Semi-constitutional Monarchy, located in-between Croatia and Serbia. It was established on the 9th of September 2022 by its first and current king, Oscar I.
It‘s member of the EUM, the DMOM and the MA.
History
The Praesidium Opaty was established on the 9th of September 2022 after already having claimed its national territory on the 3rd of June the same year.
Before political parties were introduced on the 1st of January 2023, the “OKTAGON provisional Government” ruled the country in a de facto dictatorship, which fortunately wasn’t their intention;
The Name “Praesidium Opaty” comes from an ecclesiastical administered territory, which was dissolved in 1739 in favour of founding the City of Apatin in today’s Serbia.

Military and armed forces
The armed forces are under the sole command of the king.
Furthermore, the army is divided into two parts: the ground forces and the navy.
Foreign relations
The Praesidium Opaty joined the European Union of Micronations in July 2023, the Micronational Assembly and the Defensive Micronational of Micronations later that same year.
Opaty recognises all UN members including also Taiwan, Kosovo, Westsahara and the following Micronations:
