The Most Excellent Order of Merit of Basistha is the junior most order of chivalry of the Vishwamitran state of Basistha. It was established on 28 November 2021 by Ștefan Marius Snagoveanu, the first Rajyapal of Basistha as the head of the state of Basistha. The order is conferred in recognition of the services of merit rendered by individuals towards the state of Basistha and its people.
History
The Order of Merit of Basistha was established as a chivalric order of the state of Basistha by the state's first and only governor Ștefan Marius Snagoveanu on 28 November 2021 along with the Order of Basistha to confer it upon individuals in recognition of their services to the state and its people. At the time of its creation, it was the second highest order and it became the third order in the precedence following the creation of the Family Order of Basistha on 24 January 2023.
Grades and insignia
Grades
The Order of Merit of Basistha is conferred in two grades of appointment:
- Grand Companion or Darjah Sri Utama Bhakti Basistha - D.S.B.B.
- Companion or Darjah Utama Bhakti Basistha - D.U.B.B.
- Member or Darjah Sadasya Bhakti Basistha - D.S.B.B.
The Rajpramukh of Basistha is at the helm of the order as the sovereign of the Order of Basistha, a position formerly filled by the Rajyapal of Basistha.
Insignia
- The riband of the order is orange and has a wide peacock blue horizontal bar at both ends. The rosettes indicate the various grades of the order.
The recipients of the Grand Companion grade wear the sash of the order from the right shoulder to the left waist and the badge of the order below the chest. The recipients of the Companion grade wear the necklet whose riband is the same as that of the Grand Companion grade and the star of the order is hung to the riband. The recipients of the Member grade wear the medallion on the chest which is the star of the order attached to a riband.
