Officer Cadet is a rank in the United Federation Armed Forces. It is held by trainee officers from each branch during their training in an officer candidate school, prior to being commissioned. All officers that aren't direct commissioned start their careers as officer cadets in an officer candidate school.
Insignia
The rank of officer cadet has no formal insignia attached to it. However, some officer candidate schools may choose to issue officer cadets a white tab as their rank insignia at the school's discretion. This insignia can sit on the officer cadet's collar or on their epaulettes.
