Novanglia, officially the Federated Kingdoms of Novanglia, is a polity claiming independence as an autonomous sovereign state, or a micronation, located in the North America. The Kingdom declared independence from the United States March 1, 2016.

Etymology

The name Novanglia combination of the Latin word Nova Anglia which in English means New England, it is a refence to where Novanglia is located.

History

Early History (2016-2019)

Novanglia was founded on March 1, 2016. The Kingdom of Novanglia's original name was the Republic of Stelegiriots. In October 2016, Stelegiriots renamed to the United Provinces of New England and remade its flag. This flag is still in used to this day as its used for all her vassels. In 2018, the flag was updated to its current appearance. In January, the nation renamed to Republic of New Yankeeland and in early 2017 a vote was heald and the people desided to become a Kingdom and Stephen I was crowned as the first king however it wouldn't be until September 29, 2018 when Novanglia was renamed to what it is today. However in that time when Novanglia was called New Yankee it was joined the League of Micronations. formed the New Yankee Empire, and Formed the North Western Alliances. The NWA is the only that never disbaned as Lomn would fall into chaos and disbanded in late 2018 and along with the New Yankee Empire.

In 2019 Novanglia would join the Reformed Intermicronational Confederation and on February 15, 2019 would reform the New Yankee Empire to the United Kingdom of Alboin-Novanglia It was formed after the personal union between the Kingdom of Novanglia and the Archduchy of Albion. Albion-Novnglia was a duel Monchy with King Stephen holding half of the power and Archduke John holding the other half. In March 2019 Esmeralda would also agree to join the United Kingdoms. In the 2020 it was disbanded as most of the kingdoms in it was where inactive. With Esmeralda becomeing inactive and disbanded and the late summer of 2020 Archduke John becoming less interested in micronations would give his lands to King Stephen. However King Stephen wasn't able to effectively rule over Albion due to how far Albion was to Novanglia and King Stephen disbanded Albion leaving Novanglia the last kingdom in the United Kingdom.

Renaissance period (2020-2022)

In 2020 Novanglia would start what was called the "King's plan" which was a project to make Novanglia more self reliant and goals where to finish up the massive overhaul of the military which had started in 2017. And start laying out the ground work for Novanglia to start producing it own products. So far the plan is going along smooth with the military done and Novanglia now starting to export lumber and construction service to the US. In late summer Novanglia would have a falling out with the RiC and would leave it with its empire and go into a period of self isolationist.

On February 15, 2021 talks begin to reform and reactive the United Kingdoms of Alboin-Novanglia and on February 20, 2021 it was reformed into the United Kingdom of the Northeast Highlands after Novanglia had reorganized it duchies and reformed Elizabeth into a kingdom. Elizabeth is the southern most duchy and is where the Prime Minster lives. King Stephen I was crowned as it ruler and King Stephen United the two crowns into one forming the United Kingdom of the Northeast Highlands. The name Northeast Highlands comes form northern most part of the Appalachians often called the Northeastern Highlands where both Novanglia and Elizabeth are.

On January 27, 2022 a vote was pass to reform the realm. Part the reform was merging Northeast Highlands into Novanglia and also down side Novanglia after the merge.

Current History

In Early 2023 Novanglia would gain land in Greenland and Scandinavia with the joining of new citizens within those areas. On May 3 2023, the Republic of Egan with merge into Novanglia renaming itself to the Petty Kingdom of Nova Francia. In August the Petty Kingdom of the Appalachia would be formed. On September 9th the Novanglain Constitution would be reworked and updated, and also renamed from the Kingdom of Novanglia to the Federated Kingdoms of Novanglia making it a federation of kingdoms with equal say on how the nation is run. In Novamber a massive overall of the armed forces was done in acting the Regulars and Militia act of 2023. Witch reformed and grew the military with a new doctrine, new branch, and new equipment.

On Christmas Eve day Novangla would pass the Christmas deal. The Christmas deal would be foreign policy to policy of isolation, Royal Economic Development council. A council in witch the help develop the nation by granting small business loans with a small interest to help get companies up off of the grand. Give farmers a tax cut, make Education free, and establish the Royal Care System with provides basic health care. On January 23 2024, Novanglia would reworked and updated there bill of rights and on the same day Novanglia signed the Halifax-Boston Treaty of Friendship, Mutual Assistance, and Co-Prosperity, with the Democratic Republic of Peipohja.

Royal Novanglian Defence Forces

the Defence Forces of Novanglia is made up of active and reserve personnel. Novanglia follows the Sweden and Switzerland models of Total Defense and the Falkland Island Defense Forces in the structure and organization of our defense forces. Haven five different branches the Household Guard Division, Novanglian Home Guard, Royal Navy, Royal Marine Corps and Royal Air Forces. The current Commanding general of the military is High King Stephen who is ranked King-Commander.

Geography climate

Novanglia geography is mostly hilly with thick woodlands, mountains and rivers. Novanglia's climate gets all four season normally in the summer doesn't get past 90 degrees however in the winter temperature can get well below freezing with plenty of precipitation throughout the year. However, the weather in Novanglia can change quickly.

Currency

Currency of Novanglia is the Novanglian dollar, the Nova for short which is base upon the US dollar.

Culture

Novanglia's culture is a mix of Canadian and New England regional culture. Novanglians are patriotic about the kingdom and military. Novanglian culture is very much heavy influence and big on the military. Many citizen has served or are some way or another part of the military.

Novanglian holidays are observed in commemoration of someone or something, or during an event, such as the beginning of a year. They can also serve are days with paid time off.
