The Military Expenditure Reduction Initiative or Command Order #20 was a Command Order released from the Office of the First President. The action was in an effort to reduce the size of the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces, which had grown significantly and many regiments were not needing to be operating.

With the build-up of resistance and opposition to the Arstotzkan Union in Judea in late 2020, the actions of the Initiative were overruled and all regiments of all branches were activated. Since then Arstotzkan High Command has terminated the authority of the MERI.

In 2021, Commander Liam Huxley, originally the Embassy Commander of the Consulate General of the Arstotzkan Union in Auckland, launched a proposal to the First President and Kommondant of the AUDF, on the reforming of the AUDF. This idea was approved and as of October 27, 2021, the final drafts have been completed on what is known as Executive Presidential Order on the Reforming of the Command of the Arstotzkan Union National Defense Forces (October 2021).
