The Leader of the Opposition, sometimes known as the Opposition Leader, is the person who leads the Official Opposition in the Kingdom of Arbya. The position is seen as the shadow head of government of Arbya. They chair the shadow cabinet and act as an alternate prime minister.

History
The office of opposition leader was established briefly by the constitution. It was established on 4 July 2023.
Role
The Leader of the Opposition is often viewed as an alternative or shadow prime minister, and is appointed to the Privy Council. They lead an Official Opposition Shadow Cabinet, which scrutinises the actions of the Cabinet and offers alternative policies.
Appointment
The Opposition Leader is appointed by the Monarch - usually based on the composition of parliament after elections. By convention, the Leader of the Opposition is the leader of the largest political party in the Estates General that is not in government. When a single party wins outright, this is the party leader of the second-largest political party in the Estates General.
