"Keep the Peace" is a phrase that has been used by the citizens of the Empire of Ela'r'oech, known as Elarians, in the context of maintaining peaceful relations with various nations, particularly during times of heightened tensions. The phrase has been employed in 2020, 2021, and 2023 to address specific international situations involving Alaria, Runnymede, and the Pontunian breakaway state, respectively.

Usage

2020

In 2020, tensions between Ela'r'oech and Alaria reached a high point. In response, Elarians used the phrase "Keep the Peace" to call for restraint and diplomacy. This emphasis on peaceful resolution attempted to help to de-escalate the situation and maintain stability in the region. Unfortunately, the de-escalation would not last forever and the Second Alarian War would begin. However, after the Second War, the phrase would be used again for the same purpose into 2021 regarding the Third Alarian War. The phrase would stop usage with reference to Alarians when Alaria itself was annexed by Ela'r'oech.

2021

2021 saw increased tensions between Ela'r'oech and Runnymede, which eventually led to the LENS-Runnymede War. Elarians once again invoked the phrase "Keep the Peace" to urge both sides to seek a peaceful resolution to their differences. Although the conflict ultimately escalated, the use of this phrase demonstrated the commitment of the Elarian people to peace and diplomacy.

2023

In 2023, tensions between Ela'r'oech and the Pontunian state led by Andrew Perdomo reached a critical point. As in previous years, Elarians used the phrase "Keep the Peace" to advocate for a peaceful resolution to the situation. They started usage in December 2023 following the internal discussions of a Christmas invasion of Pontunia by Elarian officials. This phrase continued usage during the arrest of a Pontunian by Elarian law enforcement.

Cultural relevance

The phrase "Keep the Peace" has become an important part of the Elarian cultural and political lexicon, representing the nation's commitment to peaceful coexistence and diplomacy. By invoking this phrase in times of tension, Elarians have sought to de-escalate conflicts and promote stability both within their own nation and in the broader international community.
