The Journal World Independence Takeover was a military coup d'etat staged by Isaiah Deegan on March 3, 2016. The revolution was a largely bloodless affair and began after Isaiah decided he wanted to create a country. He wanted to stage a revolution like the many historical stories about war and revolution he had heard and read about in school, so that is what he did. He also felt he could do better than the current system in the world.

Background

First Hours

On March 14, 2016, Isaiah Deegan declared Journal World to be an independent nation and donned the signature Pork pie hat that the Mayor of Journal World is known for wearing. He quickly seized his room for himself and then prepared to take the rest of the house. He was successful, as there was no one to resist him. Once he seized it all by simply marching in, he prepared to take over more land the next day. However, he would suffer an injury after attempting to make his bed properly. He struck his head on a windowsill and created a 2 centimeter deep gash in his forehead that bled profusely. He would have to leave his country's territory to get it fixed. The dent created by the gash is still on his forehead to this day. This was the only casualty caused by the coup d'etat.

Fort House

Former location of Fort House, as of February 8, 2024.

Isaiah would quickly occupy Fort House by just heading out into the backyard behind his home. He took the fort and ended the revolution by heading back inside and creating Journal World.

Aftermath and Legacy

The legacy of this event is hard to deny in Journal World. It serves as the defining moment for the nation and encapsulates the anti-establishment ideas that the nation of Journal World has. The people of the nation sought to go and step out of the box and try something new, which was exactly what this event serves to show.
