The Grunkian Commonwealth was a commonwealth that worked in a similar way to New Canada. It was an organization to unite all the Grunkian constituent states and protectorates, and was very similar to the St. Charlian Commonwealth. It had 3 member nations at the time of its dissolving, which are listed at the bottom of this article.
History
Foundation
On 21 December 2012, Gunho Kim, the President of the Federal Republic of Grunkia announced the creation of the Grunkian Commonwealth. He announced that it was an "organization to unite all the Grunkian protectorates, dependencies, and colonies". Two nations that were already dependencies, joined the organization, and later, Grunkian East Hasanistan was formed.
Inactivity
The Grunkian Commonwealth fell into inactivity only after a month. Grunkian East Hasanistan (later renamed Grunkian Central Asia) and the Republic of Gunhovia left the GC and rejoined their respective countries or were given to other nations.
Revival
The GC was revived two months after inactivity after the Grunkian parliament decided to reform it and re-design the commonwealth.
Politics
The Grunkian Commonwealth was a federal republic. There was a President, who only had the power to dissolve Parliament, and the Governor, who held power like the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. However, the Governor's and the President's power were limited by the Grunkian Government. The Grunkian Government could declare war on a nation, and the Parliament of the Grunkian Commonwealth could vote whether to declare war on that specific nation or not. Single constituent nations could ask the President of Grunkia whether they can declare war on a specific nation. If the President approved, then that specific constituent nation(s) could have declared war. Constituent nations could also have their own legislatures, depending on whether they were colonies, dependencies (constituent), or protectorates. Protectorates tended to have little to no say in Parliament due to the fact they were mostly independent rather then relying on Grunkian defence and foreign affair management.
