The Southern Sun Empire
The Sun Republic's sister nation, founded 2017. The Southern Sun Empire is a de facto governing body that strived to achieve certain elements of Marxism within it's territorial claims. The most pressing of these elements was unilateral communism, which the nation believed to be able to achieve by 2023. As a Duskiean state, much like the Sun Republic, it had debates with unification of the northernly government. The Southern Sun Empire is territorially separated from the Sun Republic by a long chain-link fence which has two official gates. Unification debates were most prominent in the 2019 Duskian Discussion, which pressed Sun Republic Presidents Leland Elliott and Maxwell Grife to draw a definite conclusion to the separation problem. As of 2021, The Southern Sun Empire remains inactive. No further government action has been instituted since December 2019.
Dormancy
The Southern Sun Empire, or as it's known in the official language Dusklandica Emperica, is the sister nation to the Sun Republic. Birthed out of the dissolution of the Duskian Empire, it exists, as of 2023, solely in legal status only. There are no active, registered citizenry and likewise there is no functional government instituted at this time. As a result, the Southern Sun Empire stands as a huanting reminder of ambitious ideals left unfulfilled. It's inception in 2017 was marked by fervent asirpations to emulate certain Marxist principles, particularly aiming for unilateral communism. Yet, despite the initial zeal, the nation fell into a state of dormancy, stagnating into a mere legal entity without tangible presence or active governance.
Unification with The Sun Republic
The division between The Sun Republic and the Southern Sun Empire still exists to this day. The 2019 Duskiean Discussion stand out as a pivotal moment in the nation's history, sparking heated debates regarding the unification of the two nations. Presidents Leland Elliott and Maxwell Grife of The Sun Republic were pressed to confront the issue head-on and fine a difinitve solution to bridge the divide. However, despite these discussions, no concrete actions were taken, and the Southern Sun Empire remained in a state of inertia.
As of 2023, the Southern Sun Empire continues to exist on paper alone. When the Treaty of Benson expires in 2025, it will be up to the delegates of the treaty to decide on the fate of the nation.
