The Maritime Empire of Valmaris, more commonly known as Valmaris, is a thalassocratic micronation based around the waters of the United Kingdom. It was founded on 3 October 2022 by Jack Savage, 1st Prince Imperial who now acts as the nation's head of state.
Valmaris' is unique as its main territorial claims are not on land but on water. Whilst the empire does claim some land such as Port Imperial, located in Hull its main focus is to keep the waters of Northern Europe safe and regulated whilst engaging in peaceful diplomatic missions with other micronations.
Etymology
The name Valmaris is formed from two Latin words. The first being Val meaning valley and the second being Maris meaning the sea. The valley of the sea is in reference to what Valmarisians call the sea between the United Kingdom and mainland Europe
