The Imperialist Absolute Monarchy of Jexpoi, or most commonly called Jexpoi, is a monarchist micronation located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA. The land area covers 0.17 square miles, just 0.02 square miles smaller than Vatican City. It was established on 9 February 2021 and has been self-declared independent since then. However, the official declaration of independence was only created on 24 January 2024, on the king's birthday. Jexpoi was founded by Eric Gorbach, who is the king of Jexpoi.
For over three years, the territory of Jexpoi was confined in Eric's room. However, on 11 March 2024, Eric decided to claim several swamp lands. The land consists mostly of swamps; however, there are also several small forests and semi-clearings throughout.
When Jexpoi was just created, the population was only three people. Over time the population grew, but it also fell at times due to several rebellions. As of March 2024, there are 8 citizens in the country. All of the current citizens are ethnically Slavic people, with most of them being Russian. There are two official languages- Russian and English, and all of the citizens can speak both of them fluently.
History
Establishment
Eric had always liked the idea of ruling a country, so the idea of a micronation sounded very appealing. On 19 January 2021, Eric and 2 of his friends (Oleg S and Nikeeta S) made the first plans for creating the country. The flag and coat of arms were designed, and the name "Jexpoi" was created. By February, the population grew to 6. Before Jexpoi could even be officially established, 2 of the citizens started rebelling. The rebellion was easily stopped, and they were expelled from the kingdom. On 9 February 2021, Jexpoi was officially established. The First Defenders, which was the defense group of Jexpoi during the rebellion, formed the military.
Three-Way War
After the small rebellions that were put down, the Three-Way War became Jexpoi's first official conflict. It took place on 23 February 2021, and three different sides took part in it. 2 of the sides had an army of two people, while the third one had just 1. In the end, it was a Jexpoian victory.
First War of Rebellion (WOR1)
Soon after Jexpoi's establishment, the population increased once again, this time to 9 people. 3 of them, of which 2 were the ones who were formerly expelled, started to rebel again just a few days after Jexpoi's establishment. Jexpoi descended into a civil war that lasted from 25 February until 6 April, when all 3 rebels broke away and formed their own country.
Jexpoian War One (JW1)
After WOR1, the 3 rebels (Ruvim S, Ruslan S, and Jacob S) formed the country of Cenopo. At the end of WOR1, King Eric told Ruvim, "We need peace!" But Ruvim, the king of Cenopo, replied, "Yes, we will have peace, but only after Jexpoi is all destroyed!" 2 days later, on 8 April, JW1 was fought, the biggest war in all of Jexpoi's history. Ruvim took 3 mercenaries with him to even out the armies, and stood facing the Jexpoians. On Eric's command, the Jexpoians attacked. Fighting was very close between people, and all of the Cenopans tried to attack Eric at once. Eventually, Ruvim, Ruslan, and Jacob were surrounded and captured, while the mercenaries fled.
The Cenopo Trial
The next day, King Eric and Oleg took the 3 Cenopans to trial. They tried to prove their innocence, but it was in vain. King Eric then told them that they could be free under three conditions:
1- They must give up Cenopo to Jexpoi.
2- They must break up their army and never gather it together again.
3- They must be loyal to Jexpoi.
They agreed to the terms and were set free, but they went against Jexpoi again soon after.
Second War of Rebellion (WOR2)
Ruvim and the two others again rebelled, sparking another civil war. However, this one was much smaller and the rebellion was put down fast. Ruvim, Ruslan, and Jacob again were expelled, who then created another country. They called it Sparta, after the Ancient Greek nation.
Jexpoian War 2 (JW2)
On 25 May, Jexpoi and Sparta went to war. This time, it lasted much shorter and ended with yet another Jexpoian victory. Sparta was conquered, and its three citizens gave up on destroying Jexpoi.
Declaration of Independence
After almost 3 years of almost nothing happening, King Eric wrote the Jexpoian declaration of independence on his birthday, on 24 January 2024. In it, he wrote about how the American democratic system is flawed, and how the Jexpoian monarchists have now declared independence for all to see.
Annexation Day
On 11 March, 2024, King Eric and his second-in-command, Oleg, were visiting the Jexpoian embassy in a swamp area. There, Eric decided to annex all the swamp lands for Jexpoi, giving Jexpoi its first official land. The area of the annexed land covers 0.17 square miles.
Government and Order
Jexpoi is an absolute monarchy, which means that the king has absolute power over everything within the nation. When Jexpoi was just established, it was called an anarchist monarchy because while there was a king, there were no laws yet. When The D Act was passed on 6 April 2021, Jexpoi became a semi-anarchist monarchy. Over time, there became more and more acts (laws) and so on 28 December 2022, Jexpoi became an absolute monarchy. There are several ranks in the government, but each one can only act under the King's permission. That way, they can't do anything that the King would later disapprove of.
Governmental Ranks and Positions
The highest rank in the entire governmental structure is the King. The King of Jexpoi has absolute power over all that is within Jexpoi. There is no constitution, and also no laws that limit his power. The second rank is the Prince. The Prince would normally be the son of the King. However, if the King is not married yet and does not have a son, his younger brother becomes the Acting Prince until one is born to the King. The rank of Prince is subdivided into two smaller sections: Grand Prince, who is the King's heir, and just regular Prince. Third is the Prime Minister. There used to be two Prime Ministers in Jexpoi, and the rank was subdivided into the Prime Minister of War and the Prime Minister of Money. The Prime Minister of War was the one who oversaw the military actions, and the Prime Minister of Money was in charge of the Jexpoian money and its security. On 8 April 2024, King Eric decided that there would be only one prime minister, just like it was before 29 April 2021. The fourth rank is the General. The General of the Army is the primary commander of the Jexpoian military during times of conflict. The fifth and last major rank is given to the highest-ranking military official. Currently, this rank is the First Commander.
Royal Titles
Jexpoi uses the same royal Titles as the ones used in the Russian Empire. The King is Tsar, the Grand Prince is Tsesarevich, and the Prince is Tsarevich. The Tsar's wife is Tsaritsa, and the Tsar's daughter is Tsarevna.
State Governors
The State Governors used to be the only members of the government that were elected. They would have served ten-year terms. However, on 6 April 2024, King Eric decided to abolish all traces of democracy from Jexpoi (because it is an absolute monarchy) and so removed the voting system. The King now directly appoints and removes the state governors as he wishes.
Military
Currently, all eight of the citizens are in the military. It consists of five branches- the army, air force, navy, coast guard, and the law enforcement. The first three usually are the ones to partake in the actual fighting, while the last two stay back to defend Jexpoi and to enforce its laws. However, the only active branch currently is the army. Jexpoi does not have any ships or planes yet, so those branches will be organized in the future.
Law Enforcement
Instead of police, there is a branch in the military made for enforcing the laws and catching criminals. The Jexpoian laws are called "Acts." The first eight Acts are called the Original Acts of Jexpoi, while all the others are the Additional Acts of Jexpoi. The Additional Acts are further subdivided into their own categories.
Foreign Relations
Jexpoi recognizes three different breakaway regions in the world, and also one which is now dissolved and two others that were annexed by Russia. It also recognizes a few fellow micronations.

Economy
The currency of the nation is called the Jexpoian Piece. There are no coins, only bills, and one Jexpoian Piece is equal to 488 Russian Rubles, or 5.32 United States Dollars. The values are 0.1 Pieces, 0.5 pieces, 1 Piece, 5 Pieces, and 8 Pieces. Like Belarus, inflation is "illegal."
Geography and Climate
Jexpoi mostly consists of flat land. Most of it is swamp land, although there are also several areas with small forests, fields, and semi-clearings. There is also a small area consisting of a large number of tiny hills about 3 feet tall each, and another with a large open-water place. Jexpoi's elevation is roughly 1,470 feet above sea level. The climate type of Jexpoi is Humid continental due to its far inland location. The Köppen climate classification is Dfa. It has hot, humid summers and cold, bitter winters. The mean monthly daily temperatures range from 17.9°F (-7.8°C) to 74.4°F (23.6°C).

The population of Jexpoi as of March 2024 is 8. At its highest, the population reached 13. However, due to rebellions and betrayals, several people were expelled from Jexpoi.

Music
The first ever Jexpoian song ever written is the national anthem. Called "Джекспой - это наша родная земля," the words were slightly changed from the original lyrics to fit better as the anthem. Most of the Jexpoian songs are either patriotic songs or war songs. Some of the more famous songs include "Берегись, Сенопо!" (Watch out, Cenopo!), "Перво-Защитники" (The First Defenders), and "Джекспой родной" (Our dear Jexpoi).
Sports and Other Activities
The most popular activity in Jexpoi is biking. The national game is hand pool, which is basically pool but without the sticks. Foosball is also a very popular game among the citizens.

National Landmark
The national landmark is the Lepetit Rock, located in the state of Pickle. The full name is very long, and if you add spaces at the correct spots and translate it from French, it tells the story of the Lepetit Rock's erection. The reason for such a long name was to break the current world record for the longest place name. National Plants and Animals
The national plant of Jexpoi is the Saguaro Cactus. It does not naturally grow in the land, but is shown on the coat of arms. The national flower is the Field Thistle, also called the Jexpoi Thistle within the country, while the national tree is the Black Hills Spruce. The national animal of Jexpoi is the American Toad, or in Jexpoi, the Jexpoian Toad. The national insect is the Cecropia Moth, or the Jexpoian Moth. It was chosen due to its very "Jexpoian" look. The national Fish is the Paddlefish. Currently, it is unknown if the waters in Jexpoi contains any fish, so a local fish of South Dakota was chosen.
Other National Symbols
The national color of Jexpoi is red, and the national food is pickles. The pickle was chosen as a joke, as Pelmeni are a much more popular food among the citizens.
Demographics
Language
The official languages of Jexpoi are Russian and English, although at least half of the population can also speak Ukrainian. Jexpoian English slightly varies from American English, using simplified words such as "funer" and a few different types of accents in some words. Also, Jexpoian English has 3 extra optional letters: Wynn(Ƿ), Eth(Ð), and Thorn(Þ). In Jexpoian Russian, "Джекспой" is written as "Jекспой." The letter "J" is used in only that single word, and sounds exactly the same as "Дж."
Ethnicity
Every citizen is ethnically Slavic. Most are Russian, but there are also a few Ukrainians.
Religion
Jexpoi is 100% Pentecostal Christian. The C Act states that the only religion that will be allowed is Christianity, and that all other religions are banned.

On 22 November 2023, King Eric changed the coat of arms to its current design to make it represent Jexpoi better. The very bottom section, the cactus surrounded by 3 different color stripes, was the original coat of arms before the change. That part represents Jexpoi's past. Above it is a sword on a black background, symbolizing military strength, the willingness to fight for Jexpoi, and destruction to Jexpoi's enemies. The final part of the shield is the Jexpoian flag. The shield is supported by 2 pillars, both in the color of the Jexpoian victory flag. Above the shield is a crown, with the Jexpoian national and war flags beside it. |
