Cathairo-Pempire, officially the Home Province of Cathairo-Pempire and known for postal & statistical purposes as Provinces H2/H3 or Province H5, is a divisional province of the Princian Commonwealth created from the merger of the former provinces of Cathair (Province H3) and Pempire (Province H2) on 31 October 2021 which themselves were created along with Addersonheath following the partition of the Home Province of Princia on 30 January 2021. Cathairo-Pempire is also sometimes known as the Encalibre (or, less commonly, the Royal Encalibre) as in the names of the province's two police services: South Encalibre Constabulary and the North Encalibre Partnership. Cathairo-Pempire elects 14 ministers and 5 lordministers for representation in the Electoral Legislature of the Prince's Order. Due to Cathairo-Pempire's previous position as two separate provinces, each electing a separate Governor-General to lead them but now electing one single unified Governor-General, the two provinces-now-regions of Cathair and Pempire have been allowed to additionally elect a Viceroy each to replace their former Governor-Generals - often leading these two regions to be known as Princia's only viceroyalties, although this term is not official. Cathairo-Pempire's 3-digit country code is "CPM" and as of 1st February 2023 it is a member of the Home Brigade Prefecture.

History

Cathairo-Pempire was created on 31st October 2021 from the 2021 Act of Cathairo-Pempire which merged the two Home Provinces of Cathair and Pempire. As these two provinces were members of differing prefectures, Addera and Gardica respectively, the Home Province of Cathairo-Pempire was originally independent of a prefecture.

Etymology

Cathair

The name Cathair comes from the Old Irish "cathaír," meaning "fortification," a reference to Rokkia Castle in the county of Rokkia.

Pempire

The name Pempire comes from the Italian "pempire," meaning "to fulfil," a reference to Princia's expansionist strategy of the past, similar to manifest destiny of the United States.
