The Catanese Republic is a micronation in the Kolniari Sector inside of Glasgow, Scotland. It was founded by the Former Prime Minister of the Sprinske Empire, Matteo Catania, following the Battle of Yeltsingrad on 30 August 2022. The country was granted some territory by the Sprinske Empire in exchange for an alliance. The Catanese Republic only has diplomatic relations with the Sprinske Empire And Republic of Pekatan For most Kolniaric Nations are or at one point were, the nation is mostly isolationist, it does not engage in relations with other micronations outside of the sector, but is well known by its neighbours. The only Kolniaric nations to have any connections to outside of the sector are the Sprinske Empire and Alba Nuadh. The Nation Is Part Of The Kolniaric Union Since The Start of it, The Nation Was Suppose to be called ‘Republic Of The Catanese’ But Later Changed It To ‘Catanese Republic’. Then During The Velvet Revolution, A new Name was ‘Armi’ which means Weapons in Italian, But It Never Got Used And To This Day Is Still Known Has Catanese Republic.
Etymology
The Catanese Republic’s got the word ‘Catanese’ from the dialect spoke in Catania, Sicily. Matteo Catania also said that he added the word ‘Republic’ in relation to the People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske.
History of the Cities
When the Catanese Republic was founded, it only had two cities which were Meli and New Fiorentina. New Fiorentina comes from the Italian Football team, Fiorentina, which is located in Firenze (Florence in English), Meli was the capital and largest city in the nation at that time, then Kelpy was founded in South Meli and it is the region where most Industry is located, later in the Velvet Revolution, New Fiorentina became the capital and largest city in the nation. Then 2 other cities were formed, but were outside the Kolniari, the names weren’t decided because The Catanese Republic Didint really recognise and it wasn’t really near the main Nation. After a month, the land was ‘sold’ away (Said ‘sold’ because It was actually abandoned). The new city is named Houston, suggestion by Aaron I. The land was won after Aaron gambled the land and said he didn’t want it soo later Matteo won the land.
Flags
The Mafia Republic Leader had many ideas for the flag, one of them was to use the same colours has the Sprinske Empire Flag (since Aaron I is the reason the Mafia Republic Exists) but later changed his mind to using a similar flag to the Italian flag, with a dragon added to it. The 2nd Flag was similar, but with a yellow border and 5 Stars. The 5 stars used to represent the 5 states the nation had (other 2 states were outside Kolniari) but later got re changed because the citizens weren’t satisfied. The 3rd Flag is Different from the other ones,the colour are blue, black and yellow stripes. The flag was changed during the velvet revolution on the 20th of March. Although The 3rd Flag was current one, a voting will take place on the 8th of September 2023 To decide the Flag since there’s been a debate that the previous one was better or the current one is better. The flags in debate were the 1st one and the 3rd one, the alternative flag will not be an option since the nation doesn’t recognise the 2 outside nation, but a similar flag will also be a 3rd option which is the alternative flag but with 2 less stars, which the remaining 3 stars will represent New Fiorentina, Meli And Kelpy. Another point is that the Flag Originally should’ve been the Portugal flag since Matteo Has a strong liking to Portugal, but later changed it to his home land, Italy. But he couldn’t keep it like the original for possible copyrighting, soo he added a dragon to the flag, and it remained for 5 months, later the ‘2 new cities’ were added and the flag changed to adding 5 stars representing, but then only lasted 1 months . Then after the revolution, the flag completely changed to blue, black and yellow stripes and lasted 6 months. On the 13th of September 2023, The Voting of the official flags ended with 3 voting to the 3rd flag, 5 voting to the alternative flag and 8 voting to the 1st Flag of the Nation. Now the nation has gone back to his first flag and original flag.
History
Prior to the nation’s founding, Matteo Catania was Prime Minister of the Sprinske Empire. Reportedly due to disliking another major government member, he joined the BDA and fought against the Sprinske Empire and the People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske during the Battle of Yeltsingrad, the first battle of the Second Micronational War on Terror. After the BDA lost the battle, Matteo Catania left the organisation and asked o for some territory to found his own nation. He was granted some land in North Kolniari near the cities of Gorbachevgrad, Sprinske Empire and New Arkhangelsk, People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske.
Following the Great Kolniaric War Scandal, the Mafia Republic quickly became a member of the Kolniaric Union. It soon became a very popular destination for the governments of the neighbouring Sprinske Empire And Republic of Pekatan to visit, especially to enjoy the walk around all 3 cities of the nation, Meli, New Fiorentina, and Kelpy. Most Kolniaric Union meetings take place in New Fiorentina, which makes the Mafia Republic detrimental to the alliance. It was in the Mafia Republic that the conference of the North Kolniaric Leaders took place to announce the dissolution of the PDRS in October 2022 and The Rise of The union of the free.

Battle of Yeltisingrad (29/8/22)
The Battle of Yeltsingrad was a battle during the Second Micronational War on Terror where the President, Matteo, fought before the creation of the Mafia Republic. He worked for the BDA, betraying the Sprinske Empire since he was the Prime Minister. The BDA’s leader (who now owns The Republic of Pekatan) promised good money in exchange for an alliance to help in the war. After the BDA lost the war, Matteo asked for some land, he also wanted an alliance and Aaron I gave him land.
Great Kolniaric War Scandal (21/9/22)
The Great Kolniaric War Scandal was a ‘war’ in the Kolniari Sector involving the whole sector against the Mafia Republic because it was allegedly making counterfeit versions of the Sprinske Delta to weaken the Sprinske economy. Emperor Aaron was told by one of his intelligence operatives that the Mafia Republic was printing out fake cash in an alleged attempt to destroy the Sprinske Delta Currency which was used in the sector. Alba Nuadh declared war on the Mafia Republic. Sprinske quickly followed, and the BalCasMed Alliance held an emergency assembly due to the war. The agent that told the Emperor about the Mafia Republic printing fake cash was a lie( but it was unknown until the end). Then the Emperor went to Matteo Catania in person to say that he had declared war, and Matteo was confused because the Mafia Republic were not guilty, Aaron told him about everything that had happened and Matteo proved his innocence by showing him proof that the nation didn’t have the money and was framed. Then the agent confessed he made it up because he hated the Mafia Republic and its leader. The Sprinske Empire and Mafia Republic decided that the war had to come to an end, and both signed the Treaty of Meli, which ended the war. The Mafia Republic added in a term that the Sprinske Empire would have to remove its military leader immediately, this came after a military protest earlier that day which demanded that the military leader resign.
Seitnamic War (10/11/22)
The Seitnamic war was conflict in the Kolniari Sector revolving around the Duchy of Seitnam. The war began on 10 November 2022 when the Sprinske Empire, Union of the Free and The Mafia Republic. Seitnam Was Threating an invasion For Pekatan. Seitnam Was Made The 1th November 2022 and it was the smallest State in Kolniari Sector With The smallest Land and Population, However, When Pekatan was made in the 5th November 2022, Duke Callum Wanted To Take Advantage and Invade Pekatan Since it became the smallest Country After Seitnam. The Union of the Free And the Mafia Republic wanted to invade Seitnam since from the start since Duke Callum was already making trouble.
Kolniari Cold War (7/12/22)
The Kolniari Cold War Was a Conflict between the two largest and most powerful knations of the Kolniari Sector Lasted From the 7 December 2022 up to 11 December 2022. The Sprinske Empire and the Union of the Free And Later Duchy of Seitnam Also Joined In the war. Then The Mafia Republic Got Involved After The Union of the free President Zachary told Racist Jokes on Matteo Catania over his Nationality and Wanted to declare war For it. Zachary wanted Stewartism in The Kolniari State And Emperor Aaron was against the idea. Later a vote was held to Ban Stewartism or Keep it, The vote concluded with 4 votes against Stewartism, 2 votes in favour of keeping it. During the Vote, Zachary Stewart stated on Discord That Banning it would Increase The Chance Of war And threatened that one of his alliance called BalCasMed Alliance was allied and would help him in the war with the use of a Nuclear Weapon. Emperor Aaron Didn’t Take it Seriously but Immediately recognised the Union as a terrorist group. Later on 7 December, the Sprinske Empire and Grand Duchy of Strathclyde declared war on them, soon followed by the rest of the nations, starting the Kolniaric War.
First Kolniari War (16/1/23)
The First Kolniari War was the second part of the Kolniari Cold which was the Kolniaric Union against the Union of the Free. The peace after the war did not last however, as it was almost instantly followed by the Second Kolniaric War on 16 January 2023.
Second Kolniari War (16/1/23)
The Second Kolniaric War was declared on 16 January 2023 after Zachary Stewart’s alternate account on discord became Emperor of Sprinske. He then made an ‘alliance’ with Zachary, but on 15 January 2023, a vote was held for which government system would be used for the Republic of Donkrea’s revival, and Zachary voted for communism along with his supporters. That led to him declaring the return of the Sprinske Communist Republic, and that caused Emperor Emeritus Aaron I of Sprinske to declare independence for the Sprinske Republic. He declared himself as Kaiser of Sprinske so that he could challenge the ‘emperor’ and his authority by proclaiming himself as the legitimate monarch of Sprinske. Later On Zachary Invaded Republic of Donkrea and the neutral country, the Republic of New Riga. And By Invading a Neutral Country, Zachary Broke The New Fiorentina Agreement Which Meant The Second Kolniari War Was Much Bigger Than The First One. Later On 2 February 2023, Zachary Stewart announced that he was going to resign, he also dissolved Free Scotland and founded the ‘Organised League of Stewartists,’ an organisation with the aim of achieving Scottish independence under the Stewartist ideology. The organisation has also stated that it may use violence if need be, which has led to it being classified as a terrorist organisation by some Kolniaric nations. With the dissolution of Free Scotland, the Sprinske Republic and its allies declared victory and the end of the Second Kolniaric War on the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory at Stalingrad
Pekatan War (3/2/23)
The Pekatan War was an ongoing conflict over the Republic of Pekatan being fought between a gang of 12-14 year olds known as ‘The Radicals’ and the Pekantish government and its allies. The war began on 3 February 2023 when a number of the Radicals found out about a secret armoury in Pekatan and wanted to check it out despite being told that they weren’t allowed to go as the armoury was a classified area. This then resulted in mild skirmishes that later resulted in almost all of Pekatan being destroyed.
The war is ongoing due to an attempt by the Sprinske Republic to reclaim Pekatan for the Pekantish government on 16 February 2023 and attempted to repair some of the damage done, but was only moderately successful.
Kolniari Free State War (29/2/23)
The Kolniari Free State War Is the continue of the Pekatan war known colloquially as the Free State War is an ongoing conflict revolving around the Kolniaric Free State, specifically the city of Newshrine. The war began on 20 February 2023 when ‘The Radicals’ who had previously attacked Pekatan were now attacking the Kolniari Free State. On 20 February 2023, the Kolniari Free State War began after a group known as The Radicals attacked the Republic of Pekatan, destroying some religious relics and important buildings, and stealing the weapons from the Libidine Armoury belonging to Pekatan, Sprinske and the Mafia Republic. Following the fall of Pekatan, the Kolniaric Union moved their base to the Kolniari Free State and began fortifying it from an expected assault. The Kolniari Free State then became the Radicals’ new target.
Toothpaste “War” (22/9/23)
The toothpaste war wasn’t really a war and more of a drill, it took place in Republic of Pekatan as training for future wars. The people who took place in the drill were Emperor Aaron I and Jayden Graham Against Olivier and Matteo. Olivier and Matteo had to defend Pekatan and Aaron I and Jayden had to invade it. Olivier wasn’t really part of the drill, soo he sat and had his lunch while watching the drill and Matteo defending Pekatan. Then Jayden decided to use toothpaste as a weapon and covered Matteo’s left arm with toothpaste. The drill ended fast as Jayden left the drill and went for a drink.
The Five Minute War (15/11/23)
The Five Minute War was a conflict between Republic of Pekatan and Tsardom of Kaltarsia which took place between 15 and 16 November 2023. The actual fighting only lasted for five minutes, hence the name of the conflict. It all started when Olivier tried to wind up Aaron I showing Payday 2 memes which he detests, so he made the decision to invade Pekatan as this had happened multiple times despite warnings that mentioning that game was illegal. Olivier and Matteo quickly followed to try and talk to him at stop him but got slowed down as they marched through New Sài Gòn in Kaltarsia and through the badlands at the main entrance in Pekatan as they were very muddy and wet due to heavy rain which had been going on for a few days prior to the war. When Matteo and Olivier Arrived in Pekatan, Olivier tried to grab Aaron’s Shillelagh and succeed as Matteo was trying to stop them. The battle itself lasted 5 minutes as Matteo came up with a treaty called ‘Treaty of Pekatan’ which stated that Olivier can’t speak or show anything related to the games Payday 2 and Payday 3, and Aaron can’t sing 'Hitler has only got one ball' which is a song that Olivier finds annoying. The treaty was signed the next day at 09:10, and the war officially ended.
Velvet Revolution
The Velvet Revolution of the Mafia Republic started on 17th March 2023 and ended the 20th March 2023, the flag was changed, as was the government, two new languages were recognised by the government, Milanese and Sicilian, and the capital city was changed to New Fiorentina. The Velvet Revolution was a peaceful revolution like Czechoslovakia in 1989. The government became a military dictatorship and all elections were cancelled.
Golden & Sharke Bank
since the Mafia Republic is responsible the money (and the only nation to use it). A bank was Built in The bottom half of the city New Fiorentina and will open on the 24th January 2024 and is were all the Economic money is held. Citizen are allowed in the bottom half only for the bank and can’t go pass it. Only Citizens are allowed to withdraw and deposit money and can invest. The bank are also opened to strangers but they can’t deposit or withdraw, they can only exchange currency. The name comes from a main constructer of the bank called Sharke, and ‘Golden’ because it has Gold bars in the vault.
Military
The Mafia Republic has an army of 9 people, but the country mainly shares their troops with the Sprinske Empire and Republic of Pekatan. In total, the nation has around 11-12 Soldiers (excluding naval and air forces).
Laws and government
The Mafia Republic’s leader is known as the Strongman who rules the nation as a military dictator and has no term limits. It is a one-party state, governed by the Potestas Party, which derives from the Latin word for power. The Potestas Party is in total control of the nation along with the military. Citizens do have guaranteed free speech and can criticise the party, except in cases where their criticisms turn to violence. The borders are open to everyone to enter and leave as they please, but those with a criminal record will be investigated further to determine the severity of the crime they committed. Citizens can carry firearms and other weapons, but they must have a valid reason and permission from the government. The country’s government as well as the Kolniaric Union often have meetings in New Fiorentina. The top half of New Fiorentina is accessible to citizens, but only permitted officials can enter the lower half of the city.
Economy And Money
The Mafia Republic’s official currency is the Italian Lira Used In Italy Until 2002 which Then The euro Got introduced in Italy. Kolniari Sector it had lower business tax rates than any of its neighbours at just 10.5% Corporate Tax rates compared to 15% in the Sprinske Empire. For Now The Mafia Republic Only Holds The 1000 Lira and the 5000 Which Can Be Obtained By Working In The Country. In Future More Money Will Be Available As The 10000, 500 and the 100000.
Money Gets Printed In The Mafia Republic’s bank in the bottom half of New Fiorentina called Golden & Sharke because Since No Other Country Use It In The Kolniari Sector. And Will Become Available The 30th Of January 2023 After Getting Introduced In December 2022.
Pekatan Casino
Republic of Pekatan opened its first Casino and might be the first Casino in the entire North Kolniari. It’s located at the Left side of the map called the Strip. Many games are played there like Scabby Queen and Blackjack, and some new games invented by Pekatan’s Master, Olivier. It was announced on the 15th January 2024 a Casino in Pekatan will open on the 17th January. First game was played on the 17th January by the leaders of the Mafia Republic, Sprinske Empire and Pekatan. Many Items were gambled like Pens, Pencils, bricks and even weapons. Emperor Aaron I even gambled a bit of his land which was won by the Mafia Republic.
