Yannick I Douai-Desse, known as "le Généreux", born on May 4, 1991, in Maubeuge, in the maternity ward of the Centre Hospitalier de Sambre Avesnois, is the 1st and current Sovereign Prince of Lochaber since August 25, 2017, as well as the 2nd and current Sovereign Prince of Glencoe since January 13, 2019.

1. Childhood, education and adolescence

He is the second son of Prince and Princess Daniele de Palmier, as well as the brother of Princess Sabrina d'Acacia. Grandson of Princess Fernande de Lys on his mother's side, he was baptized on August 11, 1991 by Reverend Father Basuyau, Abbot of Feignies, in the church of Saint-Martin of Feignies. He spent most of his childhood in Feignies, the town where he currently resides. His high school years were spent by correspondence with the National Center for Distance Learning and the University Campus of Maubeuge. It is during this period that he discovered his main interests, namely history and sovereignty. His student career was also punctuated by the study of Latin, a dead language that today he speaks fluently, alongside French, his native language.

Having received a traditional education from his mother's family, he fervently practices the Catholic, Apostolic, and Roman Faith, being particularly attached to the traditional rite of the Tridentine Mass, and assiduously attending the Fraternity of the Apostles of Jesus and Mary (better known by the acronym: "FSSPX"). He is also closely associated with the Order of Carmel, in the third degree. Shortly after his confirmation, carried out on June 29, 2014, by Archbishop François Garnier, Archbishop of Cambrai, in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Hautmont, he discerned on the question of the priestly path, from October 15, 2014 to September 15, 2018.

The Freemason symbol located in his personal coat of arms comes from a notable friendship he had with this philosophical institution during his adolescence. In fact, one of the ascendants of his maternal line had connections with the Freemasons, and was initiated in a particular ceremony after being accepted by the lodge. However, Yannick's religious education did not allow him to enter into a formal fraternity with the lodge, as his grandfather had done. Being born under the patronymic of his father, Desse, he decided, in 2009, out of respect and love for his mother, for one of his aunts, as well as for his grandmother, the Princess of Lilies, to use the civil name "Yannick Douai-Desse". He will qualify this new surname as a "clan name". In 2011, however, he reverses his decision and re-adopts his original name, "Yannick Desse". Since November 9, 2017, he again bears the patronymic name of his mother (Douai), combined with that of his father (Desse).

2. Reign

A. Years 2010 - Diplomacy, internal development and external influence

"Before having self-propelled Prince of Lochaber," Yannick Douai-Desse, although he was, through the purchase of a parcel of Scottish land on the Highland Titles digital platform, Lord of Lochaber, founded, on August 25, 2017, the Principality of Lochaber, and became its first reigning Prince, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 1, 2, and 12 of the Constitution that he wrote to formalize this foundation and to lay the cornerstone for his micronational adventure.

From the first moments of his reign, he infers the profile of the Principality of Lochaber to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, although the latter does not recognize the Franco-Scottish micronation as a full-fledged state. He set himself several objectives in order to make his micronational initiative a real experience, favourable to sharing and opening up to other horizons and other realities. In addition to his ambition to make the Principality shine with other micronations, the Lochaberian monarch hopes for their benevolent collaboration in the project of nature preservation, which concerns, according to him, everyone. In addition to this, he wishes to transmit monarchic values.

He participated in the purchase of the castle of La Mothe-Chandeniers on December 5, 2017, at the end of a participatory funding campaign to save the building, currently in a state of ruin.

Following a diplomatic incident with one of the member micronations of the Organisation de la MicroFrancophonie (which groups most of the French-speaking micronations), he wrote a new constitution, dated July 29, 2017. Thus, he could immediately give up his princely prerogatives. But, a few days later, and following some personal doubts, he voluntarily resumed his full duties.

This initial setback is quickly replaced by benevolence, expressed in the person of Prince Emanuel of Beremagne, who elevates him to the title of Count of Valaras on August 30, 2018, followed by that of Noble of Martorey on November 10, 2018, given by the Queen of Martorey, Marie-Ange Ire.

This active diplomatic period ends with the conclusion of a first legal assistance treaty with King Thomas of Cumagne on November 30, 2018.

The Minister of State lochaberais announces, on January 9, 2019, at the request of the Prince, the beginning of the drafting of the Civil Code lochaberais.

Yannick I accedes, on January 13, 2019, to the throne of the Principality of Glencoe, as a result of the abdication in his favor of his predecessor, Hugo I Ferreira, and in accordance with the provisions of Articles 1, 2 and 19 of the Constitution. The latter is one of the descendants of Prince Sas of Moldavia, and was the first Minister of State of Lochaber. This event is due to a misunderstanding between the State Minister and the Prince. When the latter had doubts about giving up his princely prerogatives, a form of governance was formed, with Hugo Ferreira in charge. But the Prince, keeping a vigilant eye on the actions of the Governor, noticed that the IP address used by the latter was similar to that of another Minister. Yannick, upset, dismissed the Governor and took back full power. But Hugo Ferreira, motivated by a certain desire for revenge, proclaimed the "Principality of Glencoe" and became its Prince. A period of inactivity followed after the foundation of the new principality, which exercised its sovereignty over a territory that had previously belonged to the Lochabera micronation. Feeling remorseful a few months after the execution of his revenge, Hugo I asked his "rival" for forgiveness, which was achieved.

On January 28, 2019, the Edict of Glencoe was signed by Prince Yannick. This official document unified the two rival Principalities into a single micronation "The United Principalities of Lochaber and Glencoe". His Serene Highness became, from that day on, "Prince of the United Principalities of Lochaber and Glencoe". Nevertheless, only from his successor onwards there will be only one title, since both reigns will begin simultaneously.

It was proposed to him on February 2, 2019, to enter the high society by a noble cousin, a proposal that he provisionally declined, but decided to keep for the future.

He received from the Emperor of Sandovia, on March 13, 2019, the decoration of Knight in the Order of Diplomatic Harmony Inter-micro-national, jointly with his Minister of State. The same title is renamed, the next day, to Knight in the Order of Saint Dominic Savio. On March 29, 2019, His Serene Highness decrees a day of reunion where it will be a question of transmitting the history of the Principality, as well as to make known these great men. The Government chooses the date of August 25. On May 4th, the anniversary of the Prince's birth, micro-citizens are encouraged to show solidarity, by impacting their surroundings, each at their own level, through the organization or participation in various social works of their choice, namely: -health -social -education -environment -cultural. That same day, the United Principalities of Lochaber and Glencoe formally fulfill all the conditions required by the Montevideo Convention for the formal recognition of a State. It confers to itself on April 1, 2019, the lochaberian noble title of : "Duke of Aloes".

He decrees, on April 2, 2019, after consultation with the Ministry of Culture, the strict observance of 93 world days, through the publication of communiqués, dealing with the subject addressed on each of these days.

On April 30, 2019, the Emperor of Sandovia confers on him the title of "Grand Officer in the Order of St. Philip Neri", to congratulate him for the humanitarian acts he undertook during the first months of his reign (distribution of stuffed animals to hospitalized children, etc.). Two days later, he was integrated into the Sandove imperial nobility, by the gift of the title of "Count of Rysalde". On June 12, 2019, His Serene Highness gives his approval for the edition of micronational identity cards (MIC).

He decrees on August 2, 2019, that from now on, any lochabero-glencoéais microcitizen can suggest, for a first appointment in one of the princely orders, a person he deems worthy of being distinguished.

In his desire to gradually settle the question of his succession, Prince Yannick signs, on September 6, 2019, the Constitutional Act of Succession to the Crowns No. I.

On September 28, 2019, the Sovereign Prince officially launches the first E-Boutique of lochabero-glencoéais products. This one is officially closed three months later.

The drafting of the Lochabero-Glencoean Criminal Code is started on November 26, 2019, following the announcement made by the Government Spokesperson.

The first Lochabero-Glencoéais state television channel is officially launched on December 8, 2019.

On December 24, 2019, on the eve of the Feast of the Birth of Christ, on behalf of the United Principalities, he expresses his joy over the great success of a ministerial collection organized for the cause of the most needy.

On February 1, 2020, he signs the constitutional act of (de facto) withdrawal of the United Principalities of Lochaber and Glencoe from the European Union No. II.

B. Years 2020 - "War", recognition, realized and future projects

Following the discovery of the foundation of a micronation called "Empire of New Lochaber" by Lochaber-Glencoe ministers, which seems to illegally encroach on the territories sovereignly managed by the princely authorities, Yannick I publishes the Sovereign Ordinance n°VII on May 1, 2020, where he declares war on this micronation

The constitutional act of regency n°III is signed on May 9, 2020, being part of the question of the succession of Prince Yannick, who is anxious to perpetuate his micronational adventure. On this subject, and following the signature of the first constitutional act, Prince Yannick Douai-Desse on the social network of Facebook, evokes a possible abdication in favor of his niece the Heir apparent around 2038. He confesses that this is to be absolutely sure of the succession, so that this transition of the princely powers goes as smoothly as possible. Moreover, he intends to supervise and use his notoriety to assist the new sovereign in the accomplishment of her reign. Moreover, Yannick Douai-Desse has always declared that he does not want to bless his reign, before being married. However, this will be accomplished by 2027, even if he should still be single by that time, considering, since one of his closest ministers advised him this, that a reign must more or less be blessed before the half of the eventual term of the latter.

On July 1, 2020, a lochabero-glencoe micronational currency is issued, under the approval of Prince Yannick. This currency, whose exchange rate is 1 Euro, is called the Doublon.

In view of the celebration of the Lochaberian throne, a letter patent of recognition of the Grand Chaplain Lochabero-Glencoéais, signed by his hand and sealed with his seal with red wax, is received and acted with joy by His Serene Highness Prince Yannick, July 14, 2020.

The context of the "micronational war of the two Lochabers" motivates Prince Yannick to appoint, on August 30, 2020, the first Minister of the Armies. Creating, at the same time, the Armed Forces of the United Principalities of Lochaber and Glencoe, he takes the immediate command.

The Principality of Anthophilia, newly founded by its Prince, H.S.H. Jonathan I, conferred upon him the title of "Duke of Buckfast" on September 1st.

On September 17, H.S.H. Yannick decides to settle once and for all the "conflict" he was leading against the Neo-lochaberian Emperor by signing a peace treaty with the latter. H.M.I. Goran I did not sign until three days later. Nevertheless, this "war", which lasted 4 months and 19 days, was finally over and peace returned to the Lochaberian lands.

On October 3, 2020, after more than a year of service, and despite a victorious election, the Minister of State, Giorgio Beta (who had administered six different governments), presented his resignation to the Prince, who refused it, giving him a month's time to prove his involvement in the Lochaberean government.

Ten days later, the United Principalities officially applied for membership in the WFO, through the Prince's public declaration on his official Facebook page: "I AM OFFICIALLY APPLICANT FOR MEMBERSHIP IN MICROFRANCOPHONY".

Shortly before midnight, an official application email is sent to the Organization. Unfortunately, this application is rejected on November 1, 2020.

On October 26, 2020, he received the micronationality of the Kingdom of Hope, reflecting his deep friendship with King Adrian I. In this regard, the two statesmen planned and worked together on the coronation ceremony of Prince Yannick. This caused his cousin Adrian I of Hope to post the following on his Facebook wall on November 1, 2020: "H.S.H. Yannick Douai-Desse having been proclaimed Sovereign Prince on August 25, 2017, now wishes to be crowned by the Grand Chaplain (i.e., receive the princely blessing). When will this take place? "Around the middle of the year" 2021. The event (in the form of a mass) will normally be broadcast on social networks. - H.M. Adrien I of Hope, cousin of H.S.H. Yannick I of Lochaber and Glencoe. He added to this message some dates, in order to clarify the chronology of future events:

- Thursday, June 3, 2021: Corpus Christi.

- Friday, June 11, 2021: Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

- Thursday, June 24, 2021: Nativity of Saint John the Baptist.

- Tuesday, June 29, 2021: The Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

On November 3, H.S.H. Yannick I terminated the functions of Giorgio Beta, his Minister of State for more than a year, due to ill health. He replaced him with Nicolas de Tulipe, Minister of the Interior since October 31. As soon as he was elected, the latter was concerned with the security of the reigning Prince by publishing a decree, the next day, dealing with "internal security in the context of the current threat". This decree (the first of its kind) was welcomed by all the members of the Government, including the Prince himself.

1. Exercise of power

The prerogatives of Prince Yannick Douai-Desse are governed by the constitutions of the United Principalities of Lochaber and Glencoe. He advises his ministers on the official Messenger group of the Government, since the Giorgio Beta I Government. He also ratifies the diplomatic recognition treaties and organizes the national holidays. In the name of his fons honorum, the Sovereign can decorate or ennoble a deserving citizen.

2. Autocratic monarch

On several occasions, Prince Yannick Douai-Desse has used some of his constitutional prerogatives to show authoritarianism in the face of overzealous ministers. This was the case in July 2018, when he put an end to the exceptional governance of Hugo de Chêne. More recently, he denied the Marquis de Sénevé access to the office of Minister of State.

3. Man of War

On May 1, 2020, the United Principalities of Lochaber and Glencoe went to war against the Empire of New Lochaber. This micronation had illegally seized the Lochaber-Glencoe lands. A staunch defender of peace, he commissioned the Duke of Oak to contact the Emperor to arbitrate the conflict. A peace treaty was submitted to him, but Prince Yannick Douai-Desse categorically refused to sign it, considering that he should continue the war. On September 20, 2020, a peace treaty was signed with the New-Lochaber Empire, thanks to the diplomatic negotiations of Ministers De Sénevé and Ferreira, through which the Prince learned that the New-Lochaber Emperor had bought his piece of land, in the same way that His Serene Highness had done. The resolution of this misunderstanding put an end to the war.

Prince Yannick Douai-Desse is of normal build and Caucasian type. He has a diamond face and hazel eyes, as well as black hair.

He is endowed with a great intelligence, and is ambitious, but has for defect to be impatient and angry. He can be vexing, but does not like to be vexed.

Yannick Douai-Desse reads an average of 1 to 2 books per week. He has a wonderful collection of literary works, some dating back to the 18th century. He has built up his own library.
