About the Party

History

At first, in late 2009 and early 2010, the King of Wyvern held a permanent seat in the Parliament of Wyvern. Later, a party was founded to accomodate the political power of the King and the House of Wyvern. It was named the Social Democratic Monarchist Party. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, the party's policies started to stray further and further from its name, so it was decided in September 2013 that the party was to be renamed and rebranded to the People's Party.

On the role of the monarchy

The People's Party is strongly in favour of a politically-active monarchy. It considers the monarchy to be a central institution in the Kingdom of Wyvern.

Justice

The People's Party is a law and order party when it comes to justice.

Social policy

The People's Party is in favour of a moderate welfare state, though not one with a risk of over-extension. The People's Party believes that society, when the government fails, needs to step up and take over.

The People's Party is against all forms of discrimination, including 'positive discrimination'.

Foreign policy

The People's Party, once instrumental in bringing about the Rule of Neutrality, stands by the principle that the Kingdom of Wyvern should never enter into a military alliance with any other nation.
