The People's Confederation of Vedessa, more commonly known as Vedessa, is a micronation in Michigan. It was established in November 2018 and has since been through many changes.
It is hypothetically ruled by a Council of 35 people, but is currently ruled by the Interim Leader, Connor.
It has had pleasant diplomatic relations with many nations, including Confederation of Patchogue and the Altearn Federation. It has a very relaxed border policy.
Etymology
Vedessa, natively Vedessä, comes from the Finnish language. In English it can mean On The Water or In The Water, however the leader has come out to say that the intended translation is On The Water.
History
Vedessa has had a very short and uncomplicated history. Sometime last year The Altearn Federation gave TexArkanaGald to Vedessa and then promptly disappeared, only reappearing at the start of this year.
Politics and government
Any person over 20 can run for Councilperson, every two years Council elections occur. Currently an Interim Leader heads and runs Vedessa due to the population, or lack thereof.
Law and order
There currently has been no instances of Law and Order being applied in Vedessa.
Foreign relations
Just this month, Vedessa opened an embassy in The Confederation of Patchogue, and has positive relations with The Altearn Federation.
Military
Currently the Vedessic Military has no hierarchy, as it is intended to be a socialist citizen's militia. Currently, in it's armory, it has One Airsoft Rifle, One Airsoft SMG, and Connor will soon be in a live shooting range.
Geography and climate
Located in Michigan, Vedessa gets the brunt of every season. From blistering hot summers to literally sub-arctic winters, you can expect every season. It is mostly a plains region.
Economy
Currently, the Vedessic economy is focused on food and drinks trade.
Culture and media
Vedessa speaks English, and has a midwestern culture.
