Re: Good Article status

I saw this message you left on Jon's talk page. To answer, the article in question, Technocratic Republic of Theodia, is not a Good Article because of the process that is used. While it may have been approved as a Good Article, it is not officially one yet because at the end of the nominating cycle (which is usually one month), the community votes on the approved articles and only then does it become a Good Article upon receiving the most votes. I understand your confusion though; this process was instated relatively recently. BonumlandArms.png addison (talk) 03:07, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

Oh! Interesting. Thank you for the clarification. Yes, it must indeed be new. Well, I shall await the next round, then. Do you know when the next round will start? (The start of May?) Will the vote be held on the same page? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks, /swέna/ 💬 03:12, 25 April 2021 (UTC).
Re-reading that, I got a totally different interpretation: are you saying that all the approved articles from each month have to compete with each other to get GA status? That seems a bit ridiculous. 😕 What becomes of the approved articles that are not elected in this run-off? /swέna/ 💬 03:14, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
I agree it is pretty ludicrous, and yes it is sort of a competition. The approved articles that are not voted for, well you'll just have to re-nominate them. You could refer to this page for additional relevant information. BonumlandArms.png addison (talk) 03:16, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
Wow, that's... really terrible. I'm going to have to renominate the same article for months on end until it happens to win in a second round. People are going to get bored of voting "support" on the same article over and over. The worst part is the article in-question was eligible for GA status years ago, but I held off on nominating it so I could make it perfect. I should have deviated from that policy before this crazy voting thing was put into place. I hope they see reason and change it back to how it was before, ideally in the near future. /swέna/ 💬 03:23, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
@AgentBro: I have started a discussion about this. Since you also feel this is "pretty ludicrous", I encourage you to read and consider my suggestion. It is a solution that should please all interests. /swέna/ 💬 04:17, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

IPA Help in NoboBangla

@Swena: Hello, Can you help me in adding IPA for NoboBangla? ---- Unsigned comment by User:Indradhanush

@Indradhanush: Sure. I'll need a recording of you saying the phrase several times. I'll then compare to the phonology chart for Bengali on Wikipedia, and output a transcription. I'll also create an English one; do you want UK or US English? /swέna/ 💬 17:49, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
@Swena: Oh, extremely sorry for the late reply, I will make one and I will send you. And I think UK English would be better. ~~~~ Chandrachur Basu 2:30, 25 August 2021
