Matthewopians are citizens of Matthewopia in accordance to Matthewopian citizenship law. This includes all permanent residents of Matthewopia itself, as well as those living outside the kingdom who have been granted or applied for citizenship, but not residency.

The majority of the Matthewopians people is divided into two major racial groups, that of whites (57.3%) and mixed race people (38.4%), with a significant minority of blacks (4.1%), and spoke mainly the English language (65.1%), whilst Hungarian, is the second most spoken language (11.8%), including natively. While the predominant religion is the Catholicim, a major group of Ebenthalis are Spiritists, making of Ebenthal likely the most proportionally Spiritist country in the world. There's also a significant minority of Buddhists in the country (2.9%).

According to the 2020 census, of the total Ebenthali population, 33 hold some kind of government office, and among these, only ten live in Ebenthali territory. Although Ebenthal keeps records in all of its citizens, only 54 are what it is called "citizens-in-exercise", this means, people who weren't granted, but sought actively to acquire Ebethali citizenship and are active in the micronation's affairs.

As of 2021, all Ebenthalis holds dual citizenship to say the least, and there's one single Ebenthali-born citizen, which is Her Royal Highness Princess Emmanuela of Ebenthal, who was born in Gillisburgh in 24 October 2020, being the first Ebenthali to be born a citizen by jus solis.
