The UWDR was established in the old British area of East Anglia. Whilst the entire zone is claimed, the UWDR only has limited control. Since the revolution led by the Eternal President Benjamin Weston, the nation has grown into a socialist country akin the the USSR and North Korea. They have strong ties to the PR of Korea following the same ideals as the country (Juche). The nation has a single television channel and all the important broadcasts are uploaded to the CRTV youtube channel. Most of the reports concern the activities of the leader and military accomplishments. This is similar to the news style of other socialist/communist states such as North Korea. The nation considers itself an outpost of the Juche idea in the western hemisphere.

History

During British Control

The Great Leader was the founder of the socialist union in Suffolk. As he grew up, he amassed military force and began campaigning as a political party. After a year, people were losing interest and he claimed the beginning of a new USSR called the UPN (United Peoples' Nation) this brought more popularity to his cause. In January 2014, military forces moved through East Anglian military bases and within a month, walls were built around what is now the UWDR. After fierce arguments between the UPN and the UK, the UK gave the claimed land the the UPN who then renamed themselves the UWDR. This is the name that has been kept.

Development of the Nation

In January 2014, the leader of the Socialist Nation (President Weston) organised military manoeuvres to ensure control over the area of East Anglia. On the 29th of February 2014, the UK gave up the area of Suffolk to the UWDR. Whilst the UWDR controls areas in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, the UK recognises only the county of Suffolk whilst the UWDR recognises all of East Anglia as part of the country. In September 2014, the President organised his cabinet and began the first parliamentary meetings of the Supreme Peoples' Assembly in which the Supreme Leader announced the organisation of the government in which he would oversee, but not contribute to. The assembly pass laws, but all must be passed via the President for approval. Between the foundation and today, many official organisations have been set up, including the Central Republic Television (CRTV) which is the sole active TV channel in the country, broadcasting national films, news and informercials.

Since the beginning of the UWDR, religion has been discouraged but never punished. The state is atheist and never broadcast religious footage or propaganda. Despite this, there are religious members in the government, but they are forbidden from preaching. This is a different approach to belief than in other nations such as the DPR of Korea or the former USSR as the UWDR is officially dedicated to freedom of speech despite arresting people who defy or speak badly about the regime, the government or the President.

In 2015, a full declaration of independence was created, signed by all government ministers and sent to the UK government head office in Number 10 Downing Street. The UK denied the full claim of East Anglia, but accepted the claim over Suffolk. This made the UWDR an official nation in the eyes of the world. The Supreme Leader made a speech on the happy occasion of the independence, and to this day, the 29th of August is considered the national independence day. Since then, new ministerial posts have been established and new agencies created to ensure the smooth running of the country by the leader. A national love of the leader comes hand in hand with patriotism and he is revered as god-like. The ideals of the country were established in the 2015 treaties "Formation of the Juche Idea within the ideals of Socialism under Lenin" which established how the Juche idea of the DPR of Korea could be integrated along with Marxism as developed by Lenin in the early 20th century. This was followed shortly by the guidelines for government officials "Official Guidelines on Supreme Assembly" which saw the start of the 'little lenin' pins, previously only worn in the soviet union. All members of the Supreme Peoples' Assembly must wear a small pin depicting a flame (considered the flame of Juche by the UWDR) and the face of Lenin, the founder of the first truly communist nation. Once this had been established, the government ministers were clearly identifiable. Since then, numerous books and treaties have been published regarding law and order within the nation, some of the more notable include:

- The Peoples' Guidelines for Agricultural Success

- The Workers' Guidelines for State-Run Civil Businesses

- The Peoples' Guidelines for Border Crossing

- The Military Handbook for Defence of the Fatherland

- The Officers Almanac for Control of Troops

- The Ministers Treaties on the use of Military Force in Civil Events and Evacuation

These publications gave everyone in the UWDR rules and regulations to follow in order to develop a strong and prosperous nation in the United Workers' Democratic Republic.
