Politics

The United Kingdom is a unitary state under a constitutional monarchy. King Christian is the head of state. The constitution is unwritten, although a draft constitution is currently being written. The United Cleddau Islands was governed under and absolute monarchy for just under one day. After which it became a constitutional monarchy with a Unitary parliamentary democracy. Laurel Vores accepted the post of 1st Prime Minister. Laws are made in the Parliament and if passed by the Prime Minister, are sent to the King for approval. If approval is granted it become law immediately, unless otherwise stated. The Monarch traditionally has a wide range of powers, these powers are vested in Parliament for the Prime Ministers use. Although the power's can be altered or revoked by the monarch at any time.

Military

The United Cleddau Islands have a small army that is used for national defense. The monarch is Commander-in-Chief of the whole armed forces, although this role is purely ceremonial. The only requirement needed to join the United Cleddau Islands armed forces is a pledge of allegiance to King (or Queen) and Country.

Demographics

Religion

There is no official religion of the United Cleddau Islands, although the majority of citizens are either Christian, atheist or agnostic. It is part of the unwritten constitution that religious freedom is a fundamental part of its citizens rights.

LGBT Rights

The United Cleddau Islands offer full rights to the LGBT community. They have the same rights as their heterosexual sexual counter-parts, including the right to marry, the right to serve openly in all positions (including the armed forces, police force, government etc)

Climate and Geography

The United Cleddau Islands has a mild climate, with cold, wet winters and cool-to-warm summers. It average temperature in summer is around 20°C, while in the winter it can drop to below freezing (0°C). Due to the position in a river, many of the islands (with the exception of the largest), are flooded regularly. The islands are mainly made up of raise mounds of earth, sand and rocks. The only plants to grow on the islands are water reeds and the only native wildlife are bird and the occasional seal.

The United Cleddau Islands do not currently have any internal media. All media is handled by the United Kingdom, of which The United Cleddau Islands are an enclave of.
