The Union with Quebec Act (Baustralia) was an Act of Parliament introduced in the House of Commons of Baustralia, by conservative MP Harrison Pickles on 6 July 2019, then assented by John that evening. The Act was written by John and Aidan I and introduced by Harrison Pickles as a Commons bill.

Summary

The first three paragraphs state the territorial extent, which is the Kingdom of Baustralia only, the Short Title, and that the act will come into force upon the Assent of the King of Quebec and Versailles. This is not to be confused with the Royal Assent required for a Bill to become an Act, and has already been royally assented.

Terms of Merging

The Terms of Merging (paragraphs 4–9) is a section stating the two kingdoms will merge into one Kingdom known as the United Kingdom of Baustralia and Quebec, or Baustralia for short. The Baustralia territory would become the Country of Baustralia, and the two constituent countries of Quebec and Versailles would merge into one Country of Quebec and Versailles.

It also states that a National Assembly of some sort shall be founded and will be the Assembly for Members of the Quebec National Assembly. It shall be chaired by a Minister of Parliament deemed as the First Minister, a member of the governing party in Parliament who will hold a seat in both Legislatures. It also states that the duties of an equivalent position for Baustralia shall fall upon the Prime Minister. Also, it states that no Act of National Assembly shall override an Act of Parliament, but may supplement or provide Law for ungoverned things. As the First Minister is a Member of Parliament also, he may introduce laws pertaining to Quebec only.

Lastly, it states that Peers in Quebec may still hold their title as a courtesy title, but are no longer considered peers, however they may petition the Crown to have their peerage recreated. Also, Members of the to-be-dissolved Quebecois Armed Forces who don't hold rank in Baustralia shall be able to join the Baustralian Armed Forces and keep their rank. Therefore, Aidan I would be ranked as a Warrant officer, his Baustralian rank, instead of Field Marshal, his equivalent Quebecois rank.

Terms of Separation

The Terms of Separation (paragraph 10) is a single-paragraph section stating either of the countries may separate provided they hold a referendum under the terms of the Separation Act modified so that Baustralian citizens must also be a part of the voting referendum.

Law of Succession

The Law of Succession (paragraphs 11–14) is a section stating the Crown of Quebec and Versailles will fall upon the King of Baustralia and never upon the King of Quebec or his descendants, that it will follow male-preference primogeniture and abide by the Succession Law (Modifications) Act. It also states that any Aidan's to reign in the future will have a Baustralian numeral and a Quebecois numeral, with the highest first, for example, the next Aidan to reign may be known as Aidan II&I, II for being the second to reign in Quebec, and I for being the first to reign in Baustralia. The regnal calendar shall use the Baustralian numeral always.

Terms of the King of Quebec and Versailles

The Terms of the King of Quebec and Versailles (paragraphs 15–21) is a section where the King of Quebec and Versailles would be able to state his award for allowing this Union to take place. It contains proses on the demonyms of citizens in Quebec and Baustralia, Quebecois and Baustralian respectively; that Quebec shall have its own system of road networks and transportation systems; that the capital of Quebec shall remain Citadelle, and the capital of Baustralia shall remain Cascadia, and the capital of the whole union shall be Cascadia. Lastly, it defines that the official language in Quebec is French.
