Official Website Trebian Forum

The Kingdom of Trebia is a secessionist movement, and micronation located in the Isthmus of Panama.

A young micronation with nothing much to say, rather than it's population grows slowly but surely. And there is a constant fight for economic growth under Panamenian territory.

The Trebian forum was released on Monday, 15 September, 2014. It is a very new forum and as such, it lacks members and posts, but the forum is expected to increase in such things.

In January 2015, the Trebian Government started it's email address,

The Traditional Roman Catholic rite, abolished by the Second Vatican Council, will be condoned, and made compulsory, by the Trebian government, promoting the use of the Latin Mass, and traditional architecture for religious buildings, as well as a revival of the Gregorian Chant and the Religious Baroque music.

Trebia has a planned military but it is not developed neither possible to develop yet. However, any effort will be put on an army at the time of Independence (but there is no intent on violent secession), but it will be based purely on armed neutrality. Even so, Trebia actually has a military anthem, the "Himno de la Santa Causa" (Anthem of the Holy Cause) was composed to be a military anthem.

The King will hold the title of Commander-in-Chief of the Trebian troops, and will have an absolute control of the army, and even the right to declare war.

Conscription is very unlikely, and will only be employed during a national emergency. Conscription will recruit the toughest citizens in Trebia that are past 20 years old. The minimum age for volunteer military service will be 16 years old.

There may be no intent on violent secession, but the nation looks forward to having a small, decent army to defend it's own territory and interests.

Trebia will have a free market based economy, with little government intervention in the course of private business. The only restrictions put on free enterprise have to do with free speech restrictions put by the government, and a resistance to globalization. The Trebian economy hasn't been well developed yet, due to not having seceded yet. However, the main goal is to privatize the means of production in corporations and guilds.

Public Sector

There will be three taxes levied in Trebia. This table shows all the taxes that will be levied upon the secession of Trebia. All the values (except for import tariffs) are flat taxes, meaning that no matter how much there is of an income disparity, the percentages here are the same for everyone.

Tax Description Percentage Exemptions
Income/Corporate profit tax Deduction from both personal wages and corporate profits 10% of income None
Commercial Transactions Tax On every purchase of goods and services, this percentage will be added to total cost 5% of total purchase cost Exempt goods include foods (including alcoholic beverages), books, medicine, religious items, school supplies, while private medical and schooling services are exempt from this tax
Property tax Annual payment of a percentage of the value of all the properties owned by the taxpayer 2.5% of total property value Churches, Hospitals, Schools and Orphanages are exempt from this tax
Royal Fifth Inspired on old Spain's Quinto Real (Royal Fifth) will deduct a fifth of any treasure (mineral wealth, war spoils) found. 20% of the treasure found None
Trade Tariffs Tariffs imposed on imports to protect the local producer Could vary depending on the offer and demand of the product, and number of competitors, both at a national level Exports are exempt from tariffs, only goods coming in are taxed

Taxes will be collected by the Governorships, in each province, and then a small percentage of the revenue will be kept by the Governorship for local expenditure and the surplus revenue will be sent to the Royal Government, to be spent on national defense and nation-wide infrastructure.

Another potential source of income for the government is penal labor quotas, mandatory in penitentiaries. Import tariffs, which will be kept high for products produced locally, if there isn't a monopoly on production, as to protect private enterprise locally (protectionism). However, goods not produced locally and that enjoy relatively high demand will pay low tariffs.

Trebian culture is influenced by intentionally imported cultural aspects of Western Classical Culture. Despite the reasons for Trebia to secede from Panama are mostly political, culture change is a priority as well. The government will promote teaching on Classical culture in schools to create a better educated population.

Main Articles: Gothic Architecture Baroque Architecture Colonial Architecture

Part of the Trebian policy consists on the revival of Western Classical architecture. The considered currents are Gothic, Baroque, and Spanish Colonial.

Domestic architecture will be mostly Traditional Italian and Spanish Colonial, among other styles.

Main Articles: Early Classical Music Common Practice

Unique music is going to be developed in a near future. European influences, mainly Western Classical, could influence in Trebian folk music. Adoption of traditional, folkloric Panamanian culture has been taken in mind.

Proposed Trebian folk instruments

Instruments included for Trebian folk music are guitar, violin, bagpipe, clarinet, flute, tambourine and maracas.

Traditional dishes already exist. Some of them are Panamanian (read link above) and others are proper Trebian, mainly with crops to be produced in tropical climates, although wheat is widely used too. Panamanian dishes that may be included in, or at least influence Trebia include Tamales, Almojábanos, Carimañolas, Tortillas and Hojaldre. Italian and Mexican cuisine also have a huge influence.

Foreign relations

Trebian diplomatic relations are always informal (as there is no experienced diplomat, capacity to have embassies, or Trebia having declarated it's independence). All Trebian relations are unofficial and informal, and at an almost personal level. However, upon declarated independence, Trebia seeks to make these relations official.

Trebia is related to these countries:
