The Transterrian presidential election of July, 2018 was the first contested election in Transterrian history. The election was held on Sunday, July 22, 2018.
On June 19, 2018, the Constitutional Convention of Transterra passed the 2nd draft of the Constitution, written by Connor Stumperth. After the Constitution was passed, candidates began making their campaign announcements for President of the Federated States. Both Connor Stumperth of the New Democratic Party and Alexander von Habsburg of the Liberal Democrats both declared their candidacies.
The first presidential debate was held on July 15, 2018. The first debate was not completely considered a "debate" to many Transterrians due to Alexander von Habsburg's absence. Questions were still provided to candidate Connor Stumperth on his proposed polices. Questions provided to Mr. Stumperth included Transterra's influence in the community and the creation of an equal society in the Federated States. Opinion polls were released that night; Connor Stumperth lead the polls by 60% while Habsburg lead the polls by just 40%.
The second presidential debate was held on July 18, 2018.
The third presidential debate was held on July 21, 2018.
