The Transterrian presidential election of December, 2018 or the Transterrian presidential and general election of December, 2018 was the second presidential election in the Federated States. It was the only election in Transterrian history that the Presidency was uncontested. The highlights of the election was the Federal Assembly election and the GUM referendum. The election was held on Saturday, December 22, 2018.

Background

The first presidential election in Transterra took place on July 22, 2018. The date was declared by Former President Edward Daniels after the ratification of the Constitution of the Federated States of Transterra on June 19, 2018. After the conclusion of the election, Connor Stumperth was the first elected and inaugurated President in Transterrian history. According to the Constitution, Article III. Section I. states that a President must serve at least five months in office for a single term. Hence, the declared election will be held on December 22, 2018, following the July 2018 presidential election. This will be the first election in which members will be elected to the Federal Assembly. The GUM referendum will also be on the ballot for the election. On November 6, 2018, Edward Daniels launched his campaign for President. Daniels campaign succeeded on December 22, 2018.

Results

Presidential results

The results for the Presidency of the Federated States was released in the evening of December 22, 2018. To no surprise, Daniels won in a landslide victory against the only other option which was to abstain from voting. Daniels is the only candidate in history to not only be elected in an uncontested election, but to also win the largest share of votes and states. At the end of the election, Daniels won all three states in Transterra, 10 popular votes with 83.3% of the votes casted. Daniels will be inaugurated on December 29, 2018 and will become the 3rd President of the Federated States of Transterra and first Libertarian president in Transterrian history. He will also the the first non-consecutive two term president in history as well.

Federal Assembly results

The Federal Assembly results were released alongside the Presidential results as well. The Federal Assembly results were just as historic; the Libertarian Party ultimately won the most votes nationwide. The Libertarian Party won two seats in the States of Sylvana and Judesberg. Verraland was a shock result to many Verralanders. Verraland had the most diversity when it came to voting and the New Democratic Party won a single seat in Verraland. The Libertarian Party was able to garner a two seat majority and current Leader of the Libertarian Party, Nicholas Randouler will become the first Majority Leader of the Federal Assembly.
