The Third Dhrubajyoti Roy ministry (Hindi: तृतीय ध्रुबज्योति रॉय मंत्रिमंडल) was the 7th union council of ministers of the Republic of Children's Group which was formed after the April 2016 general election. The ministry, the third-ever union ministry to be headed by Prime Minister Dhrubajyoti Roy, was formed on 11 April 2016 after the outstanding victory of the Secular Party in the nation's first-ever partisan election. The ministry remained in office until its dissolution on 30 December 2016 upon the re-election of prime minister Dhrubajyoti Roy as the prime minister.
History
The April 2016 general election resulted in the unexpected victory of the newly-formed Secular Party under the leadership of former president and prime minister Dhrubajyoti Roy. Roy defeated incumbent prime minister Sarala Baishya and her party, the Independent Party.
After the declaration of the results, the Secular Party formed an brief alliance with the Independent Party and subsequently appointed outgoing prime minister Sarala Baishya as a minister.
Composition

The council of ministers which was formed and sworn-in on 11 April 2016. The ministry composed of Prime Minister Dhrubajyoti Roy, Anoushkaa Patranabish was appointed as deputy prime minister marking the office's re-establishment after six years, six ministers were appointed with cabinet rank - Sarala Baishya, Asmi Patranabis, Arnab Sil, Abhiraj Kar, Mridul Amin and Rajdeep Deka; three ministers were appointed as ministers of state with independent charge - Anirban Phatowali, Manoj Chetry and Abhirup Patranabis; and five were appointed as ministers of state - Arnab Deka, Saikat Seal, Bishakha Das, Bhargab Jyoti Medhi and Arpan Deka.
Abhiraj Kar, who was a minister of state in the previous ministry was promoted as a cabinet minister while Arnab Deka, a cabinet minister in the previous ministry was demoted to be a minister of state.
Reshuffles
- On 14 May 2016, the Ministry of Sanitation and Cleanliness Campaign was created and Sampriti Paul and Sanghita Roy were inducted to the ministry. Sampriti Paul was appointed as the Cabinet Minister of Sanitation and Cleanliness Campaign while Sanghita Roy was appointed as the Minister of State in the same ministry.
- Upon the election of Arnab Sil as the Vice President on 29 May 2016, he was replaced as the Minister of Finance by outgoing vice president Bishnu Chetry. On the same day, Saikat Seal replaced Manoj Chetry as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Vice President's Office.
- A major reshuffle of the ministry took place on 10 July 2016 when Sarala Baishya, Arnab Deka, Sanghita Roy and Abhirup Patranabis were dropped from the ministry, while cabinet ministers Abhiraj Kar, Mridul Amin, Rajdeep Deka and Sampriti Paul were demoted to the rank of Minister of State (Independent Charge). Several new ministries and departments were also created on the same day.
- Following the creation of federal units of administration on 18 September 2016, ministers Saikat Seal, Sampriti Paul and Mridul Amin submitted their resignations. Saikat Seal was appointed as the Governor of North Guwahati while Mridul Amin was appointed as the Chief Minister of North Guwahati while Sampriti Paul was appointed as the Chief Minister of Central Guwahati. The portfolios held by the ministers were temporarily assigned to the other ministers, Home Minister Asmi Patranabis was appointed as the Minister of External Affairs, Finance Minister Bishnu Chetry got the additional charge of the Ministry of Tax and Revenue while Social and Child Welfare Minister Abhiraj Kar was given the additional charge of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
- Deputy Prime Minister Anoushkaa Patranabish was elected as the President on 2 October 2016 and resigned from the ministry and was replaced by outgoing president Tanishkaa Patranabish who was also appointed as the Minister of Finance and Salaries, while Bishnu Chetry was appointed as the Minister of Home Affairs. Home Minister Asmi Patranabis was appointed as the Minister of Sanitation and Cleanliness Campaign. Arnab Deka and his brother Arpan Deka were inducted as ministers of state.
- The Governor of Beltola Sanghita Roy was dismissed on 13 November 2016 and replaced by Anirban Phatowali, the minister of state (independent charge) in the Prime Minister's Office. Following his resignation from the ministry, his portfolio was assigned to Abhiraj Kar.
- On 27 November 2016, Vice President Arnab Sil resigned and Home Minister Bishnu Chetry was appointed as the Acting Vice President and thereupon resigned from the ministry. The portfolios of Home Affairs, Law and Justice were assigned to Deputy Prime Minister Tanishkaa Patranabish in addition to her existing portfolios.
