The Klenova Expeditions are a series of exploratory expeditions set out by the Lygonian Armeo's Maritime Gendarmerie for the exploration of Washington County, Maine. The expeditions are led by Archie Birch and mainly consisting exploration and annexations for the Maritime Republic of The Damariscotta.
The Klenova Expeditions are named after Maria Vasilyevna Klenova (12 August 1898 – 6 August 1976) was a Russian and Soviet marine geologist and one of the founders of Russian marine science and contributor to the first Soviet Antarctic atlas. The expeditions are given codes as well with their name with the following format, Klenova, Town(s) Initials, Day of Month and Distance in km traveled.
The expeditions taken on by the Lygonian Armeo's Maritime Gendarmerie consist mainly of exploratory in nature with some having annexation in some cases. The record for the longest expedition to date was Klenova MWM236 at a staggering 35 kilometers and at roughly 5.5 hours long. The main expeditions are overseen by Archie Birch with them mainly benefitting the Canton of Machias, with other regions like Machigonne, Quoddy and Calais seeing their fair share of expeditions and growth in conjunction with the Klenova Expeditions.
||Klenova MWM2635 was a expedition on the 26th of May 2021, exploring the Machias Bay Area in the towns of Machias, Marshfield and Whitneyville along many notable routes and sights including the Machias Heritage Trail, the Money Island Trail and the historic areas of Whitneyville including the old school and the old hydroelectric dam. The trip was 35 km long lasting 5.5 hours and was also used by the Lygonian Armeo to scout out and claim land for the Maritime Republic of The Damariscotta and the Free Socialist State of Paloma.
||Klenova M0115 was a expedition on the 1st of June 2021, exploring the Middle River Park area in the town of Machias. The trip explored all the trails in the park and was 15 km long lasting 2 hours and was used by the Lygonian Armeo to scout out and claim land for the Maritime Republic of The Damariscotta.
