Sultah is the name given to the political ideology on which is based much of the political and cultural worldview of Shorewell. It is based on the concept that to be a monarch you must be able to trace recognition of the said title to earlier monarchs.

Tenets and schools of thought

The basic idea that constitutes the theory, is that for any monarch to be legitimate, he must attain Sultah. It can be attained through either attaining recognition from another monarch who already possesses Sultah, or through proclaiming yourself a monarch and fulfilling the guidelines of the position.

Below are a list of the requirements for an individual to proclaim himself as one who possess Sultah:

  • Have memorized the holy scripture or text of the religion that is professed my the majority of the capital of the realm.
  • Be born of Royal blood (as long as it is of a realm that maintains a ruler using a monarchical title)
  • Receive recognition from at least 2/3 of the citizenry of the realm.

If the above conditions are met, a person can legitimately claim to be a monarch.

Imperium

Imperium is considered the possession of the imperial rank of Emperors. If a monarch wishes to attain or claims an imperial rank, it must be recognized by an already reigning emperor or be self claimed under the idea of a decoram translationem exanimi capitis (a transfer of capital). 7 capitals are recognized to be the original imperial capitals, from which all recognition must be traced. Those are the capitals of the Persian Empire, the Empire of Alexander the Great, the Mauryan Empire, the China Empire, Funan, the Roman Empire, and the Ethiopian Empire.
