The subdivisions of Austenasia constitute a hierarchy of administrative divisions divided into nine regions, as well as seventeen Crown Dependencies.

Regions are comprised of Duchies, which are comprised of Provinces and Marches, the former of which are comprised of the local administrative divisions of the Cities, Towns and Territories of the Empire:

Britannia

The Region of Britannia was founded on 31 January 2009 as Inner Austenasia with the passage of Act 53 (Administrative Divisions), and was at the time comprised solely of Wrythe. On 29 October 2015, the region was renamed to Britannia by Paragraph 8 of the Empire of Austenasia Act 2015.

The borders within which new Austenasian acquisitions will be annexed to Britannia.

Paragraph 12 of the Spheres of Influence Act 2012 established an outer limit for the expansion of Britannia, which was expanded by an Imperial Decree in February 2018; Austenasian territory will only be added to the Region of Britannia if annexed within England, Wales, or the Channel Islands, an area roughly corresponding to the Roman Diocese of the Britains.

Upon the creation of the Region, Emperor Terry I was appointed Archduke of Inner Austenasia, a title he held until his abdication on 16 February 2010, when it passed to his son, the now Emperor Jonathan I.

Britannia is divided into three Duchies: Royton, Davidopia, and Grantabridge.

Royton

The Duchy of Royton consists of one Province, that of Greater Wrythe, and was the original Duchy to be part of Britannia (then known as Inner Austenasia). Since the passage of the Empire of Austenasia Act 2017, Greater Wrythe has been comprised only of the capital city of Wrythe, although prior to said Act of Parliament being passed it had also contained Zephyria (since 2009) and Thanasia (since 2013).

Royton was named in honour of Emperor Terry I, whose middle name is Roy.

Upon the creation of Royton in January 2009, the title of Duchess of Royton was given to the then Princess Consort Margaret, who relinquished the dukedom on 28 March later that year as a gift to the then Sir William in response to his decision to join Austenasia. The title was revoked from William upon the outbreak of the Austenasian Civil War on 8 March 2010 and assumed by Emperor Esmond III, who continues to hold it as an Austenasian noble to this day.

Davidopia

The Duchy of Davidopia consists of one Province, that of Greater Corinium, which in turn consists of one Territory, that of Corinium Terentium. Founded on 4 May 2013, the title of Duke of Davidopia has been held since its creation by Emperor Terry I. The duchy itself is named in honour of Terry's father, David Austen.

Grantabridge

The Duchy of Grantabridge currently consists of one Province - Vienna, which is comprised of one Town, Palasia - and one March, Caldari, which is a March of Palasia.

Prior to 23 September 2016, Grantabridge also contained the Province of Karanyssia, which was comprised of the Town of Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein had been the Territory of Emperorsland prior to 13 April 2014, and was founded on 17 June 2013 along with Grantabridge itself.

The name of Grantabridge is derived from Grantebrycge, the Anglo-Saxon name for the nearby British city of Cambridge. From the foundation of the Duchy until the dissolution of Lichtenstein in September 2016, the Duke of Grantabridge was Lord Charles Clarke; his incumbent successor to the title is Emperor Mother Margaret, who was granted the dukedom by Parliament.

Northern Austenasia

The Region of Northern Austenasia was founded on 21 February 2009 as Outer Austenasia with the passage of Act 60 (Annexation of Glencrannog), and was at the time comprised solely of Glencrannog. On 29 October 2015, the region was renamed to Northern Austenasia by Paragraph 8 of the Empire of Austenasia Act 2015.

The borders within which new Austenasian acquisitions will be annexed to Northern Austenasia.

The Imperial Decree entitled "Region Boundaries", promulgated by Jonathan I on 13 February 2018, established an outer limit for the expansion of Northern Austenasia. Austenasian territory will only be added to the Region of Northern Austenasia if annexed within North America north of Mexico (not including Alaska), Iceland, Ireland, Scotland, the Isle of Man, or the Shetland Isles.

Upon the creation of the Region, the then Crown Prince Jonathan was appointed Archduke of Outer Austenasia, a title he has continued to hold (albeit with the name changing in 2015) to this day.

Northern Austenasia is divided into three Duchies: Highland, New Virginia, and Lowland.

Highland

The Duchy of Highland was founded on 21 February 2009 as the first Duchy in what was then Outer Austenasia, at the time comprised solely of Glencrannog. It is comprised of three Provinces: those of Nearloch, Colltiree, and Linnheside.

Upon the creation of Highland, the title of Duke of Highland was given to the then Emperor Terry I, who relinquished the dukedom on 14 October later that year as a gift to the future Emperor Esmond III, a friend of the then Crown Prince Jonathan, in response to a request from the latter. Esmond continues to hold the title as an Austenasian noble to this day.

The Province of Nearloch is comprised of the Territory of Glencrannog, the Province of Colltiree of the Territory of Beith Craobh Iostan, and the Province of Linnheside of the Territory of Glencoe, the latter two both founded on 13 April 2014.

New Virginia

The Duchy of New Virginia was founded on 7 September 2014 upon the transition of New Richmond and Shineshore from Crown Dependencies into Towns. It is comprised of four Provinces: those of Greater Richmond, Greater Hoagland, New Bernardston, and New Grémmia. Greater Richmond is comprised of the City of New Richmond, New Bernardston of the Town of Terentia, and New Grémmia of the Town of Dragovina. With a combined total of twenty nine residents, it is the most highly populated Duchy in the Empire, containing 47% of Austenasia's residential population.

The Province of Greater Hoagland was initially named Greater Shineshore upon its foundation on 7 September 2014, consisting as it did at the time solely of Shineshore. The Territory of Hoagland was added to the Province upon its annexation on 10 July 2017, and when Shineshore was ceded to Canada later that year, the Province was renamed to reflect its now sole administrative division.

Lowland

The Duchy of Lowland was founded on 7 March 2016 upon the annexation of the Territory of Amerdansk. The sole province of Lowland is that of Ousten, which comprised solely of Amerdansk itself.

Upon Dacia's foundation, H.E. Marshal Štefan Marius Snagoveanu was appointed both Baron of Prahova and Count of North Muntenia.
