Lavansaari Airfield
The island of Moshchny contains an airfield built by the Red Army during World War II which is now no longer in use. As the Soviet navy was battling the Germans and the Finns during the Siege of Leningrad, Admiral Tributs was considering keeping the island as a base. He had a radar station, an airfield, and a minor naval station on the island. As the war progressed, all proved to be crucial.
