History

The party was established on 14 April 2020 by Imrich Kvajda as a civic association and on 17 April as political party. It was originally named Republicans. First, it had the post of President, but when Kvajda resigned, there was no office that Republicans held, but on 25 April 2020, they won the post of Mayor of Goji. On the next day, an information appeared that Republicans will unite to a union of political parties with CDA, which was named Union of the Democratic Left, but it was dissolved after few days. On 23 July 2020, Kvajda renamed the party to Social Democratic Party of Baránok. On 3 December 2020, the party merged with the Liberal Party into the Democratic Party.
