The Seventh Tanishkaa Patranabish ministry was formed on 13 May 2020, thirteen days after Tanishkaa Patranabish assumed office as the Executive President of the Commonwealth of Friends Society succeeding Dhrubajyoti Roy. As the President is allowed to join the council of ministers, but not allowed to hold any portfolio, she appointed Bishnu Chetry as Senior Minister to discharge the duties of the Head of Government and also to coordinate with the members of the council of ministers.
